About the room
The House Beautiful, well-maintained house with a bathroom on each of the three floors. Bedrooms are on separate floors, so you can have a bathroom pretty much to yourself. Common spaces are the kitchen, a living room, a TV room, an exercise/craft room, and a garage/workshop area.
The Room
Large daylight basement room that can fit a large bed and a living room set. Bathroom on the same floor. Accessed via the TV room.
The neighborhood
The east part of Wallingford. We are a 10-minute walk from the UW campus, the 49, 70, 44, and 31 bus routes, and a 5-minute walk to restaurants on 45th Street. Residential neighborhood with both on-street and off-street parking that is good for walks and bike riding. We are 5 minutes away from the water and the Burke-Gilman trail. And our house has a beautiful view of the water from the kitchen and living room.
About the roomies
There are currently 3 of us living in the house: an art history professor, a UX designer, and a librarian, all in our late 30’s and early 40’s. We have chosen to live collectively long-term and are happy to say that we are still friends with our former roommates. We love to hang out and work on projects together when we have the time, like building shelving, gardening, watching movies, or sewing. We do consume alcohol in the house. We do not smoke in the house. And we keep the house pretty quiet on weekday evenings
Pets
We have a lazy, sweet, and shy greyhound who sleeps at night on the top floor of the house. No cats, please, as they would not be safe in the house with her. An additional dog is a maybe, depending on how well she interacts with them. Other pets that would stay in the basement bedroom are fine except for pet rats and mice.
