About the room

We have a room available in a 3 bedroom apartment with two other roommates. The apartment is 2 levels and has 2 bathrooms, a balcony, onsite parking, and a garage. There is a large kitchen, a dishwasher, and a washer & dryer. This is an older building so it is not the most aesthetically pleasing, but itโ€™s decorated cute and weโ€™ve had a decent time with the management company (which is surprising for Bellingham). The room is downstairs in the house and has a door to access the balcony which lets in a lot of natural light, tall ceiling, and a big closet.

The apartment is a 10 min walk from Westernโ€™s campus, 20 min walk from Fairhaven, and right on a bunch of bus lines.

This space is perfect for a Western student transferring in for spring quarter, or someone looking for a place to land post-ski season. Our preference is finding someone in college or who is a young professional, generally pretty clean, preferable female.

We are looking for someone to take over my (Riley) spot on the lease beginning March 15th. I believe the lease ends in September with the option for renewal. Rent is $600/mo, we ask that you pay $300 for March (this is negotiable). Wifi is $23.50/mo, electric is around $70/mo (this will go down significantly in the spring when it warms up outside).

I personally would love to keep living here but my job situation has changed, and I need to move to Seattle.

About the roomies

The 2 remaining roommates are both students at Western, one is finishing her last quarter this spring and the other will likely stick around Bellingham beyond when the lease is up. There is a lot of cooking in the house, seriously elaborate meals that will inspire you to try harder in your own cooking. One of the roommates has a large fish tank that is home to a beta (Picasso), a couple of frogs (Cookies and Cream), and a very large snail (Onion). They donโ€™t host parties, occasionally they might have a friend or two over on a weeknight but no one is ever loud. One roommate has a boyfriend who lives in Seattle, so she alternates going down there and him coming up each weekend. Both roommates do smoke weed and drink (very rarely), all smoking activities take place outside.

Anyone is welcome, but there is a preference for female or non-binary people.
