• We hope to hear from people who enjoy things like watching TV documentaries on science, history, and the like. The housing setup has proven suitable for many professionals - among them a rocket scientist, SLAC nuclear physicist, International medical students and even an interning brain surgeon. Our community is interested in science, history, and many similar things. Our community has had people from all continents (except Antarctica). We have included researchers, undergraduates, Ph.D., MDs, students and visitors from all around the world. Our housemates Included people from the EU, Latin America, PR China, Mexico, Ukraine, India, and such places as Belarus, Egypt, Mongolia, and Latvia. A security deposit of $700 is refundable. Possible negotiable surcharge for rentals under one year. Accommodation could work for:

1. Employees at local companies (see a partial list of nearby companies below)
2. COMMUTER or someone here part-time, possibly someone for whom a long daily trip to the Palo Alto area is too demanding.
3. Student at local colleges. Includes Foothill, Menlo College, And Stanford. House has most things a renter will need. -It has high-speed internet. -For people who like to cook a little or a lot, a kitchen with lots of cookware and refrigerators. -Bicycles to ride. Plus many other features that are described below. A stay of one year or more will receive priority. Go ahead and respond if you think you might fit. WHO ARE WE? We are several people with various occupations: Scientists, students, international scholars, graduates, and medical students and interns. Many of us toil professionally in the local technological (and/or nontechnical) Salt Mines of the modern Silicon Valley Czars, who are ruling Technology and Commerce. We are greatly interested in the world, that extensive global area outside U.S. boundaries, well-known and understood by a modest fraction of Americans. COMMUTE DISTANCES TO LOCAL WORK AND STUDY: It’s about 1 mile from here (a walk) to Bosch, Xerox PARC, and VMWare. Roche. Veterans Administration Hospital/ Medical Center, Stanford Blood Bank. It’s 2 miles or less to SAP Software, Tesla, Varian, Stanford Research Park, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Hewlett Packard, , etc. 3-5 miles, depending (on a nice bike path, bus, or Foothill Expressway) to Stanford University and Foothill College. Are 4 miles from Google and about a hundred other similar workplaces. A bicycle path to Stanford goes through wood and treelined streets and avoids heavy traffic. There is a nearby street parking along greenery lined section of our street. Or we can provide you with a bicycle. (You can check the mileage from Donald Avenue and Arastradero, Palo Alto to your destination on Google or Mapquest, etc.) NEIGHBORHOOD AND HOUSE Quiet and safe, a neighborhood near Terman Park. One block from free tennis courts (in Terman Park.) AMENITIES, House has a Washer/ Dryer, Cable TV, and Wireless internet. Apple TV with an infinite seeming film library and even more available on Amazon Prime on which we watch re-runs of things like PBS NOVA. Your housemates, who are grad students, professors, scientists, and thoughtful people from several continents can be very interesting to talk with, about many things. THINGS WE ASPIRE TO: Enjoy talking. Discuss our countries. Some of us are very interested in the US foreign policy. Several here also discuss topics including science, energy, and environment, biology, medicine, cosmology (why is the universe existing at all?) SETI and speculate on likely extraterrestrial beings’ attributes, when they ultimately come to visit. We trust and pray our interactions with visiting aliens will be more benign than human interaction with each other or other earthly species. We have multi-national potlucks (meals, social events with people bringing foods typical of their different countries) and barbecues. These have been fun. We sometimes have parties. We sing folk songs. EXPLORING NEARBY AND FARAWAY PLACES If you like this sort of thing, some of us hike and go sightseeing to places like San Francisco and local attractions.
