The bedroom, decorated in a calming blue and green scheme, is SHARED with 1-2 other solo lady travelers and has a bunk bed (bottom bunk and ladder-accessible top bunk) and a separate, extra-long sleeper sofa between the bunk bed and the window.

YOUR MONTHLY RENT COVERS:

- All utilities and Wifi - Monthly housekeeping (shared bathrooms, the floors, etc.) - Shared consumable goods such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, cleaning supplies, etc. *I need to be informed when product runs low* - Landlord on site 1-2x times per month to prepare beds for new guests, etc.

ABOUT THE HOUSE:

Bedroom:

- Extension cord or outlet access to each bed - Privacy curtains (top and bottom bunks) - Sheets, duvet, pillow, towel, and washcloth (fresh linens are stored in the landing closet) - Double desk - Two 2x4 cube shelves; the one in the closet has pull-out bins for clothes - One laundry basket per guest - Garment hangers and clothes rod - Storage space for suitcases or luggage in both the closet and under the (raised) bottom bunk

Bathroom:

- Shared bath with the tenant occupying the middle room - Wall-mounted shower caddies in tub/shower for each person - Towel spot for each person - Extra storage below the vanity - Wall-mounted hair dryer behind the bathroom door - Towels and washcloths (stored in the closet on the landing) - Toilet paper and cleaning products

Garage/Laundry:

- Laundry center with a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, hanging area, and complimentary powdered laundry detergent. - Second fridge - Additional shelves for suitcases - Bicycle storage space

Downstairs (Kitchen/Dining/Living):

- Fully equipped kitchen - Kitchen storage (one cabinet for each guest) - Ample space to hang out (couch, coffee table, side table, desk, armchair, shelves) - Half bath (toilet and sink) - USB charging outlets - Mailboxes for all tenants/residents on the wall next to Pantry/Trash/Recycling closet - Dresser with space to store personal items

HOUSE RULES:

- Remove shoes before walking up the stairs - Clean up after yourself in the kitchen (including dishes and meal prep items) - No eating upstairs - water OK in the bedroom - You are responsible to wash your own sheets - Flush the toilets thoroughly after use

  • Dispose of feminine hygiene products in trash cans - Sort recycling and waste into the proper receptacles downstairs - Do not touch the thermostat - Turn lights off when leaving a room - Quiet hours are 10pm-7am - Keep the front door locked at all times, due to occasional presence of homelessness in the area

The house does NOT espouse illegal drug activities of any kind on site, nor smoking of any sort. Tolerated personal β€œvices” are alcohol and edible marijuana. Anything else is grounds for dismissal from the home.

PARKING:

SE Brooklyn Street has very limited parking. The house is well-suited to individuals with bicycles or without cars.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

- East-West #9 bus on Powell Boulevard - East-West #2 bus on Division Street - North-South #72 bus on 82nd Ave - North-South Green-Line MAX train (runs parallel to the I-205 freeway)

Note: due to an increase in the presence of homelessness in the neighborhood in recent months (some RVs), trash and litter is present in some of the streets. Please, be always alert and aware of your surroundings (keep car doors locked and do not store any valuables)

SHOPPING, etc. (within walking distance):

- Winco Grocery: great budget-priced groceries - Fubonn Shopping Center: amazing variety of fresh vegetables and other Asian goods - Starbucks in front of the Fubonn shopping center complex - Eastport Plaza with a cinema, restaurants, and a gym (LA Fitness) - Best Baguette: fantastic sandwiches and inventive Asian drinks (boba!) - Others, such as a family medical center, gas station, many restaurants, etc. - Goodwill Store (walking distance) - Portland Community College Southeast Campus

EXTRAS:

It is expected that all individuals contribute to the overall state of cleanliness in the house. This can be accomplished by ensuring that spaces used are left in a state that will be welcoming for others at β€œBSH” (Brooklyn Street House).

  • Most ladies come for an initial 1-3 months on a temporary occupancy agreement and extend to suit their needs. A discount is available to longer-term tenants (12m+) willing to sign an Oregon Rental contract. In either situation, one month’s fully-refundable security deposit is required up-front as well as a photocopy of a government-issued ID.

The lady in the middle room works in the restaurant industry.

My brother has his own room and bathroom. Aside from work and participation in the Oregon Symphonic Band as a clarinet player, he generally keeps to himself.
