About the room

Property particulars

  • I live in the Bayberry Place Townhomes. You can go to the website to see what the general layout looks like. My kind of unit has the unfinished basement.
  • The the actual rent for my place (minus pet fees) is about 1100/month and includes cable, internet, water, sewage, and trash. The $500 I’m asking is a flat fee that would include all the above mentioned plus electricity and gas. It just makes it easier and since it’s the smaller room and there’s not a lot of space to move furniture in, it’s not fair to make someone go in for the full half.
  • The reason the listing is for no pets is because I can’t have more than the two I already have in the unit.
  • I’ll likely not be renewing the lease when it ends 10/1 so ideally I’m looking for someone through the next 8 months.
  • I’m pretty well established here so there isn’t a lot of room outside the available bedroom for other items. It does make it ideal for someone who has recently relocated to the city, but there is a full unfinished basement with most of storage space still available.
  • A roommate would have full access to the apartment. You wouldn’t have to stay confined to the bedroom. The couches are comfy and the streaming services are plentiful.
  • The pictures of the room have some furniture in them if you need some shelves and a desk, but can be removed if they aren’t needed. Dimensions are 10’4“x8’6“

About the roomies

Hi! I’m looking for a roommate to move into the spare room of my townhouse. I live a pretty quiet life and enjoy a lot of me-time. I work at a school and have a very regular day-job schedule, and also work as a dog walker/ traveling pet sitter. The two occupants you’d probably interact with the most would be my dog and cat. My dog is a sweet, quiet, older dog who already loves you and my cat is a cantankerous, older queen who generally doesn’t like anyone except me, but would sell me to the highest bidder for a piece of fresh chicken. So if you don’t mind pet hair, a large beast following you around to see if you drop anything edible, or spending the first few weeks giving a cat some chicken (that I would cook and supply) anytime you saw her, you’ll be great.

General things that can be major dealbreakers for people: -we respect pronouns in this house (mine are they/them/hers). -I do keep alcohol -I do have a firearm (I’m a single person living by myself, of course I do) that I’m happy to say I’ve never had to use (the dog is a big enough deterrent). -No hard drugs
