About the room
This is an old 60’s styled house split into two units, upstairs and downstairs. Both units are private from each other, and there is a shared laundry room in the downstairs entrance, nonintrusive and separate. There is a split-fenced backyard, semi-shared between both units but reasonably private. The unit/room available is the upstairs east-facing room, and I will be living in the west-facing room across the hall. The bathroom is right in between both bedrooms, moderate space and a bathtub shower. Almost all windows in the unit crank-open outwards, so that’s one thing to keep in mind when bringing a personal window AC unit. Otherwise a cozy space, with decent kitchen and living room. One note: electricity is a separate bill we pay monthly. The total upstairs usually runs at about $160 for the high’s and low’s of the seasons. This will be split evenly between both people, for an average of $80 tacked individual portions of rent.
Other amenities: a garage for storage (the bay door doesn’t work, so can’t store your car), oven and electric stove, fridge with freezer, and a few other cooking appliances of my own I’m happy to share. Also within easy walking distance of the Evans light rail station, and just a few blocks away from Broadway Street.
About the roomies
I have a cat named Taco who is vocal and friendly, yet skittish at times. I stay vigilant in making sure she doesn’t damage personal belongings, and she is a clean cat overall. If you’re fond of cats as well, she’ll take a liking to you. Otherwise, she respects the kind of people who like their space :)
I’m an employee at Autozone making my way through the trades field, hoping to start an apprenticeship with Lockheed Martin soon. I’m out of the house throughout the weekdays, and like to come home at night and game/watch tv. I enjoy hitting the gym on my days off, but on really cold days I’ll stay inside and hang out with my cat! I tend to give people their privacy, but I’m also down if you ever want to game or hit the gym together. We can interact as much or as little as your social battery prefers lol
I would prefer a roommate who is open-minded to animals :) I occasionally have my sister’s dog over, who is still a puppy but well trained. The other thing I’m looking for is someone who reciprocates in helping me keep the house clean. I like to clean up after myself, but some things are a team effort to keep on top of. I’m always open to discussing boundaries so I can respect them from the start; Overall, communication will strengthen the roommate relationship as we get to know each other over the next year!
Final note: I’m sorry to say dogs aren’t allowed. The landlord is okay with the occasional visitor, but he doesn’t want them living there.
About the roomies
I am looking for a replacement roommate ASAP! Very calm and easy going environment living here. We have two genuinely nice neighbors in the unit downstairs with a cat of their own, Thunder Kitty. I don’t cook super often, but when I do, I like to share :) I also enjoy body doubling if that’s something you find helpful like I do. As long as you are willing to help with the occasional house chores, we’ll get along great!
Cheers, and please reach out if this sounds up your alley!
