The house is 1400 sq ft, 3 br, 2 full baths, pretty modern (built in 1999), hardwood/laminate floors, very-well insulated, sloped ceilings, Wi-Fi, quiet street. One bedroom is available (April 1st), unfurnished, about 100 sq ft, plus closet (I might be able to supply some basic furniture if needed, but not a bed). (I can assist moving things into the room if you need help with that.) The window has blinds and blackout drapes. Rent is $650, utilities included; 1st and last ($1300) required to move in.

There’s no air conditioning, but there is a large overhead fan in the room (works great, has 3 speeds, a dimmable light, and a remote control). There is a deck on the back of the house, with nice views of open space, cows, sheep, goats, etc. Large back yard with a pear tree and plenty of space to do any gardening you want.

You will be sharing the 2nd full bath with the other roommate (60, male, UofO grad, works locally, very tidy). He does some 420 outside (no smoking inside the house or garage). He is sensitive to scents, perfumes, etc., so prefers someone who can be minimalistic in that regard. The roommates basically have their own living/multi-purpose room (a large room with some furniture, mostly unused at present).

You will have driveway parking. Everyone uses their own silverware, dishes, pots, pans, and has their own space (cabinets, drawers, pantry, etc) to keep them. The roommates each have their own long shelf in the pantry, and each have about 32 feet of 16-inch-deep shelves (plus some floor space) in the garage for storage. The usual common spaces: kitchen, dining room, pantry, laundry, deck, yards, etc. We have no pets, and no dogs or cats allowed.

I’m the owner (62, male), and I basically live on one side of the house, with my own bathroom and living room, and the roommates live on the other side, sharing the 2nd bathroom. I am “retired”, and work on physics, metaphysics, and theology (BSc Physics).

My Ideal Housemate: Any age adult who is mature-minded, mentally stable, responsible, able to get along with others, and tidy in the common areas (i.e., does not leave messes for others to deal with). A background check may be required.

Cottage Grove has a Coast Fork Farm Stand (local & organic food), Walmart Superstore, Safeway, Grocery Outlet, BiMart, Walgreens, McCoy’s Pharmacy, a good hardware store, a Territorial Seed Company store, two gyms (that I know of), a DMV office, pizza places (e.g. Papa Murphy’s, Pinocchio’s, Domino’s), golf courses (including disc golf), and an old/historic downtown section with breweries/pubs. Only 20 minutes from Eugene, without all the traffic.
