Emily's room

We are renting a large room that can come furnished or unfurnished. The room can be painted to match your aesthetic. Make it your own! It can fit a king-size bed, desk, and dresser.

This is a 3 bedroom (plus den), 2 bathroom house with a sizeable fenced-in yard. We have a vegetable garden and native flowers during the warmer months. We have almost all streaming services plus an Xbox, PS4, and Switch. We have a 4-person hot tub in the backyard. The neighborhood is quiet, but conveniently located. The house is easily accessible to 395 and 495 (less than a 10 minute drive to each). Downtown DC is a 20-minute drive. There are lots of grocery stores, gyms, and restaurants in the surrounding area. You will need a car to live here as there is only one bus line within walking distance (16A).

We keep one room as a spare room for guests (though mostly it’s used for extra storage). There is a living area upstairs and downstairs that are both fully furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped for most cooking needs. You would be sharing a bathroom with 1 other person. Kitchen and in-unit laundry are also shared. Utilities (water, gas, electric, and internet) average $100 per month per person.

The house currently has two cats and we cannot accommodate additional pets. Sorry! :(

I am a 32-year-old queer cis-woman. I work from home three days a week. I enjoy gardening, volunteering, reading, reality TV, and live music.

The second housemate is a 38-year-old queer cis-man who works from home everyday when he is not travelling for work. He enjoys video games, motorcycling, and reading.

We occasionally have friends over to play board games and have a pretty decent collection. We are 420 friendly. One of us drinks and the other is “California sober,” but we do keep alcohol in the house. We are both quiet and keep the house relatively tidy. We generally split all chores pretty evenly. We are both polyamorous and have partners that occasionally spend the day and/or night. Your partner(s) and friends would be welcome, too!
