About the room

We are looking for college students to share a 2702-square-foot house with. You get your own room in the home with access to all other rooms except the master suite. Currently, there are two rooms available. If you decide to come live with us, the room you would get can come furnished or unfurnished. Your choice.

The House: The house is a 4 Bedroom, 3-bath home in a quiet cul-de-sac just north of the medical center off Babcock Road and south of Hausman and Babcock near UTSA. We only recently moved into the house after I acquired it from my former spouse, and there are still things we are working on, as seen in the photos. All major appliances (stove, fridge, washer, dryer) are brand new.

House Layout Downstairs: A large Living/Dining room is set up as a comfortable tv viewing room. A family room that is set up as a tabletop game room A large kitchen and breakfast nook. A Utility/Washroom. One bedroom and full bath across the hallway. Upstairs: A nice Loft right at the top of the stairs. The master suite with its own bathroom and walk-in closet. Two additional bedrooms. A full bath is shared between the two other bedrooms. Back Porch: There is an enormous back porch (38 ft long X 12 ft deep X 8 ft high) with three ceiling fans and the backyard is huge (3/10 of an acre lot where most lots are 2/10 of an acre).

Nearby: Several city parks have excellent walking/biking trails within a short walk/drive. Bamberger Nature Park is the closest and connects to other parks via green space trails between subdivisions, and you never have to cross a street once you are on the trails. The house is centrally between many shopping areas, including two H.E.B.s, many common chain stores, and five shopping districts. Lots of chain restaurants as well as individually owned locations.

Who we will consider: We are looking for quiet people who want to share the house with us and prefer graduate students but will consider mature undergraduate students. If you want to have guests over, that will not be a problem, and we could help make a meal for your guests, and you and your guest can use any of the common areas.

Please feel free to ask all the questions you want.

About the roomies

My husband and I are 56 (him, an army veteran) and 55 (me), and we are high school friends who reconnected in the past year.

We are low-key, intelligent, and funny. We may be older people, but we enjoy cooking together, watching all sorts of movies (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Marvel/DC, Spy movies, etc. ), hanging out, and games, including Dungeons and Dragons. We are both retired, and it is very likely we may travel often and even abroad from time to time.

We have two small dogs, two indoor cats, and two neighborhood outdoor cats that we feed and water. The dogs are 11-year-old Jack Russel Terriers who were bred for moderate temperament and, after some belly scratches, will settle in on the couch to watch a movie. The two indoor cats were shelter rescues, and all the pets get along because the Jacks were socialized to leave the cats alone.

As mentioned above, my husband and I may travel often and possibly abroad, and we would like caring, responsible people that would be willing to take care of the home while we are away.
