Becca's room

Renting one room in a condo in South Austin (near William Cannon and S First). The other bedroom is mine, but I’m only here from November through March/April each year, so I’m looking for someone (or a couple) who would like to live in the other room full-time and would be stoked to have the place to themselves for half the year. I’m fine with renting the room to a couple or just one person - the important thing is that I’d like to rent to responsible people who are going to be able to take care of the place when I’m out of town.

ABOUT THE HOME -2bed/1.5bath (there is a half bath next to the living room- the full bathroom is shared) -Fireplace, balcony, granite countertops -Washer/dryer in pantry -Condo is on 2nd floor, in gated complex with pool and designated parking.

-I own the place. So yeah, you can paint the walls. I’m also not attached to the living room furniture, so if you want to bring your couch or table and chairs or anything, great.

-I feel safe here and the neighbors are pretty great.

-The only other person living in the condo is me, Becca! I’m 34 years old, former wilderness ranger and current wedding photographer. I love camping, hiking, whitewater rafting, running, climbing, yoga, painting, writing, guitar, roadtrips, cooking, philosophy, science, botany and ecology, and feminism.

-I was born and raised in Austin, and I spend the summers working/living in the Tetons.

-Health-conscious omnivore, non-smoker, non-drug-user, and very infrequent drinker.

-I’m a goober but I more or less have my act together. I’m a big believer in therapy, communication, and trying to be a better person. Also, I usually do my own dishes as soon as I’ve dirtied them.

-I’m a bit of an extrovert but I like treating my home as a sanctuary of chipper introversion. I’ll have a buddy or two over maybe twice a month for tea or to play music.

-I love having a housemate because of the added security and practicality of having another person in the house, and I love the opportunity for meaningful spontaneous conversations, but I also really like my space and am respectful of others’ need for space as well.
