The neighborhood is clean and safe with easy access to downtown (5 minutes by car), and there is a bus stop nearby.

House is 2000 sq ft. (3BR/2 baths) with living room, dining room, kitchen, and closed in back porch/tv room. The room for rent is 130 sq ft and furnished with full bed, bedside table, chest of drawers, ceiling fan, overhead lighting or lamp, closet, mirror. Hall bathroom serves both bedrooms. Hardwood floors, remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, working fireplace.

Utilities are included with rent (including high-speed Internet). House is fully furnished. Washer and dryer. Monitored security system. No smoking, vaping, or illegal drugs. Easy parking on street (always available) and in driveway (if our schedules match). Bus stop located nearby (less than 5 min. walk).

I am a 53 year-old male high school English teacher hoping to rent one or both extra bedrooms. Although I am doing this for the extra income, I always hope to find people I will get along well with. What’s most important to me is courtesy, and I think cleanliness in a shared space is one form of courtesy.
When my work schedule allows, I like to cook, and sometimes I may be able to share what I prepare.

I’ll ask you to sign a standard month-to-month lease and pay the last month’s rent in advance. $500 security deposit. Background and credit check required. I will rent the room to one person only.

A few caveats: I’m looking for someone who cleans up after him/herself, especially in the kitchen and bathroom. I can offer on-street parking only, so if you drive a large SUV, the parking situation won’t be ideal. Storage space is rather limited; I can only offer the space you see in the photos of the bedroom and closet.
