About the room

Entire basement for rent in family home within Northside Richmond. Close to Scotts Addition, VCU, VUU and downtown RVA. The space has a private, coded entrance. It includes a furnished living room with entertainment/WiFi available, kitchenette w/ minifridge and storage, a separate bedroom and an ensuite ¾ bathroom. The laundry room is off the main living area with a washer/drier and sink with filtered water for use. We are willing to furnish the bedroom if needed, as well as make modifications to some areas to suit your needs (shelves, storage, etc). Of note, for the taller folks, the ceiling height is just at 6 ft. so some may not be comfortable in the space. The laundry would be the only shared space, as well there are mechanical/electrical items we may need to access. We are respectful of your privacy and would do our best to give notice if we need to come down.
The kitchenette lacks a stove which may be a deal breaker for some. The prior resident of three years used an air frier, toaster oven, rice cooker and sometimes an electric hot plate. We are also willing to add a larger fridge in the laundry room. Rent is a flat rate and all utilities are included. Parking is on street in front of our home. You would have free use of the front porch and rear yard.
We would require a first/last month rent to be kept in deposit for you and a reference from your last place of residence. We are a tobacco/smoke free household as well as drug use aside from legalized cannabis. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed due to a dog on site and a cat allergy by one of us. We are only renting to 1 individual. The space would not be appropriate for children and we are not currently considering a couple or live-in significant other. The space is available in January.

About the roomies

My husband and I are pretty easy-going social people, but have a quiet home. We keep the house clean and up to date. We will go out on the weekends occasionally but rarely ever have parties at the house. We have a small 16lb dog who is friendly, does not bark, or destroy anything.
