Rio Del Mar House's room

Hello! The furnished master suite in my lovely shared ocean-view abode in Aptos (Rio Del Mar golf course neighborhood) is available for 30+ day rentals. I am looking for a short to mid term renter that will not need to rent beyond 4-6 months. Traveling nurses please inquire. (I will likely need to move back into my house by May-June).

About the House: When you walk into this welcoming home from the street level you’ll find yourself on the third floor surrounded by a collection of happy plants in the spacious living room. This top floor contains the kitchen/living/dining/laundry common areas and a half bathroom. The first thing you’ll notice is the stunning ocean and tree views through the large view windows and sliding glass door. Step through the sliding glass door and you’ll find yourself on a large balcony overlooking the spacious backyard with expansive views of the Monterey Bay.

About the Room: The beautiful master suite is on the middle story of this three story home and has its own access through a sliding glass door to a balcony overlooking the back yard. The middle balcony is furnished with bistro chairs and tables and a hanging rope seat. The room has soft lamp lighting, a standard sized closet with mirrored doors, as well as an additional slightly larger mirrored door closet adjacent the bathroom with multiple hanging rods (with hangers) and a shelf organizer. The flooring is a very cozy light tan wall-to-wall shag carpet. The master suite includes it’s own private bathroom with a tiled shower with glass sliding doors and dual shower heads and a ceiling exhaust fan. Use of the bathtub in the other shared bathroom could be arranged with a little coordination amongst the other housemates. Furnishings included in the master bedroom:

• Corner desk, with drawers/cabinet storage, keyboard tray, and outlet strip, overlooking the back yard

About the Area: The home is on an elevation a few streets up above the golf course in Rio Del Mar in a safe and scenic neighborhood that is great for walking/jogging/biking. It is conveniently located just a couple minutes drive from the Rio Del Mar exit Highway 1 freeway ramps, the Deerpark shopping center, and nearby beaches. Hospitals:

• The Dominican Hospital and Sutter facilites are located just 10 minutes north (6.5 miles drive), or about a 20 minute bus ride starting from the bus station 15 minutes walk away on the other side of the freeway.
• The Watsonville Community Hospital is just 10 minutes south (7.5 miles drive), or about an hour by bus plus the 15 minute walk to the bus station. The Sutter facility in Watsonville is just a little further than the community hospital.

Local attractions:

The pathway takes you by the fishing pier and ruins of the historic cement ship, the S.S. Palo Alto. –Hidden, Beercan, and Seascape resort beaches are all off the beaten path and are dog and campfire friendly.

• Hiking/Biking –Forest of Nisene Marks, gorgeous multi-use trails meander along a serene creek under majestic redwood forests

Rental terms: Rent is $1500/month and does not include utilities which have been around $100/ea in the winter months. Trash is paid, other utilities (PG&E gas & electric, water, and WiFi internet) are shared equally between the 4 occupants of the house. The room is for single occupancy only. Sorry no couples. Pets are not allowed as residents of the house, but visiting pets of guests and significant others may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. Periodic house cleaning service may be negotiable.

About Us: The home is shared with 3 other hard-working, empowered, active, loving, warm women in their early 30s. We are all professionals working outside of the house. While we respect each other’s space, we also enjoy coming together for the occasional house dinner, art night, or sound healing meditation. One of us works with kids over the hill in Saratoga, one works with kids AND in real estate in the Santa Cruz area, and the other works in a local title company office nearby. We enjoy music, art, dancing, yoga, sound healing, yummy food - and surrounding ourselves with positive and heart-centered people.
