Greetings potential new housemate! We have an amazing room opening up in our humble abode on October 28th. (possibly sooner) We are on the search for that special person to complete our wonderful sanctuary. Is that you? There would be a total of 5 people living here. The house is big and roomy with lots of space for everyone. Unfortunately, we cannot have pets due to allergies. No couples/single occupancy only. We are patient and not in a rush to find someone. This ensures a good fit for everyone long term.

The House- 5 bedroom 1bath house with all the things that make a house splendid. We all have different schedules so the one bathroom is rarely an issue. Roomy dining room/living room space. Art parlor complete with fire place where we host dinner/ movie/game nights once in a while. A snazzy, well stocked kitchen with massive amounts of counter space for all your culinary needs. Lots of cupboard space for food storage as well. A huge backyard that’s great for BBQ’s and gardening. The washer and dryer are in the basement. We don’t really have extra storage space so most of your stuff should fit in your room. There is room in the backyard shed for your bike. We don’t wear shoes in the house to help keep the floors non-cruddy and the noise levels down. We have a large movie screen and projector for movie nights. We have great landlords who are on point with any fix it issues etc. that we need taken care of. The available room-($690) This is the master bedroom. It’s the nicest room in the house. The room is on the main level of the house. The room is large and it’s approximate dimensions are 12x14. It has custom slate tile floor and has it’s own ceiling fan. It has 2 windows for plenty of light. One of the windows is a greenhouse style window for your plants or window decorations. The room itself has a side nook that can be used as second closet, computer desk area etc. There is also a closet in the hallway that goes with the room as well. Tons of space.

The Neighborhood- Located in the Beaumont district, this gem is a rare find in this part of town. Super convenient to lots of things. Flowers and gardens in the surrounding area make it a treat to commute around in. I love biking/walking around here. Tons of restaurants, pubs, grocery stores are nearby. Also, we are close to bus/max lines+the airport. Lots of on street parking. The neighborhood here is super safe and chill.

The Housemates- We are 4 chill, clean and down to earth respectful folks ranging in age from 30-49. C-49/male. I’m the house manager and have been living here for 9yrs. I like to garden,share home cooked meals with housemates, make art, photography and grill. I do all the housecleaning and yard maintenance. I work in the cannabis industry as well and have a few other side gigs. V-31/male. Works in the environmental field doing conservation work. Likes to go on camping and river adventures. K-38/female. Works for a crisis hotline on the weekends. Super cheerful, fun to be around and a great communicator. She’s an amazing cook and loves to share her creations with the house. Keeps things tidy. C-30/male. He works for Trimet and is fond of video games and trips to museums. We take pride in our home and keep things clean and tidy but aren’t OCD about it. It’s an omnivore mix of a homestead for those it matters to. We like to keep a mellow and relaxed environment, yet everyone is on point with their responsibilities. We socialize when we can, but we all have busy lives and respect each other’s down time/personal space. We make art,cook amazing food and love to host a shindig or two when we can. Having said that this isn’t a party/crash pad kinda house. We are respectful of noise levels and folks work schedules. It would be best if you fit on the quiet time schedule, 10 pm-9am. Quiet night owls are OK, noisy ones are not. A good nights sleep is important. The Loot Details- Move in costs:1st months rent/deposit/background check fee (The rent includes the following bonuses) -Renters insurance -Trash+recycling -House supplies=toilet paper,sponges,dish soap,paper towels,cleaning supplies etc. -Yard maintenance/lawn mowing -Once a week house cleaning. (you still have to do your dishes and clean up after yourself) Due on the first of every month.

~Deposit equal to one month’s rent. Due upon approval to hold the room. This is a house deposit NOT last months rent. The deposit is fully refundable. ~$30-Application/background check fee No criminal record or evictions. You don’t need perfect credit. Depending on the time of year, utilities run around $80-$130 per month,per person. This includes heat,high speed wi fi,PGE and water. What we are looking for in a housemate- The lease will be on a month to month basis however,we are looking for someone who can commit to at LEAST a minimum of 6 months, ideally a year. Most folks stick around for a year or two,sometimes longer. Responsible with paying rent and bills on time. Verifiable proof of stable income/savings. Communal living experience preferred. Solid/mature communication skills a must. Clean up after yourself and guests. Be on point with your dishes. We have some room for some collective space items but not looking to have someone move a whole house of stuff in. 420 is cool, no hard drugs and tobacco get smoked outside. Creative types welcome. Overnight guests are fine as long as it’s not all the time. Move in boyfriend/girlfriend is not. You don’t have to be our new best friend but we’re not looking to live with strangers that put in zero energy into the collective. Teamwork makes the dream work.
