Joe's room

Two rooms currently available in a house on 2.5 acres of mostly forest, with a big yard, vegetable garden, and a few outbuildings. Both rooms have walk-in closets with pretty ample storage space, and furnishings that you can keep or not. House has two bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen and common area with wood stove. It is far enough from town that you will need a car.

Currently it’s just me (29m, construction worker, leftist) and two young cats. My partner (29f, scientist) also stays here about half the time. We like to host a party on occasion, but most of the time it’s a pretty quiet place.

I’m a pretty communally-minded person and like the idea of making this a cooperative living environment. With past roommates I’ve had a system where we all pay rent into a house account, and rent can be reduced by helping out with chores and house projects. We also pooled groceries and shared meals. That worked pretty well for keeping the place cheap, clean, and welcoming, so I’d be willing to discuss some version of that model as well.
