Large, freshly repainted room for rent in 1400 square foot house on wooded cul de sac in Carrboro near McDougle school. $795/month plus 1/3 of utilities. References required. Security deposit payable to hold the rental.

I’m renting out the living room as a bedroom; it’s a big room with a small closet, two tall windows, hardwood floors, and its own entrance. Shared kitchen, dining, bathroom, deck, big yard (almost half an acre), gardening if you are so inclined. House is furnished other than the room that’s being rented. Kitchen fully equipped (microwave, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, pots, pans, dishes, spices, staples). Dining room furnished including large table and a comfortable armchair. Covered carport I’ve been using for small gatherings. If you need to store your kayak or summer clothes, there is space in the crawl space and attic but it’s not climate controlled.

3 block walk to free bus system, 5 blocks to forest trails, about 50 minute walk to downtown Carrboro.

Strictly no drugs/alcohol/tobacco on property. Diverse, LGBTQIA+ and people of color friendly household. Hablamos español. I’m a light sleeper so I prefer someone who’s quiet at night.

I work from home 3-4 days a week and have an office for that purpose. My 19 year old son lives here and goes to UNC. He has his own bedroom, keeps to himself, is calm and respectful. He does play video games and cook at night. I have a very sweet new rescue pitbull who hasn’t been vetted to be around other dogs or cats so he needs to be the only pet in the home right now.
