Harrison Street

Hello,

I’m looking for someone to move into the spare room of my 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment in the Oakland/Piedmont area. The room is available ASAP. I am looking for someone to occupy the room for at least 9 months, with the potential for longer. However, the lease is month-to-month and utilities will be shared between us (Internet and PG&E). The $1,440 per month is the price of the rent without the utilities included. There is a deposit of $1440 as well. The apartment is furnished but the room itself isn’t.

Neighborhood: This is a quiet, peaceful building and neighborhood alike that parallels Piedmont ave. There is available street parking. There is also a bus stop at the top of street and the 580 high entrance is just at the end of the street. So it is a busy street. There is a gas station at the end of the street which is where I normally fuel up. Wholefoods is just down the road and Lake Merritt is only a mile away. I feel very safe in this neighborhood and have never had any issues. We border the Piedmont/Oakland city limits.

Amenities: There are 2 washers and 2 dryers for the building to share on the ground floor. We use an app to add money and pay for each load. It cost $1.50 to wash and $1.75 to dry. The apartment has a heater and is only necessary for a few days in winter. The temperature is usually very pleasant. The kitchen has a dishwasher, a refrigerator, and a stove. I already have most appliances, cutlery, and utensils.

Culture of the apartment: I normally get home between 4-5pm and to come home to relax. The apartment is mostly always tidy and we can discuss cleaning schedules in person.

• I’m a 32-year old high school teacher who has been living in Oakland for four years now. I like my quiet downtime when I get home from work and on the weekends. I am down to earth and easy to get along with. I like to cook and use the kitchen daily. On weekends I like to relax, go to church, and check out places in the Bay I don’t know yet.

• I am looking for a roommate who is on-time with payments and ideally someone working full-time. I enjoy casual socializing but have a routine of going to bed at a reasonable time during the work week, so please no loud activity at night and please no overnight guests. No pets, no children, no smoking, thank you.

• I’m a neat and tidy person, and respectful of common areas. I’m looking for a roommate who’s friendly/open to being friends, but we can do our own thing independently :)
