Andy's room

The room is a good size (~130 sq ft), includes two large closets with sliding door mirrors and a space perfect for a dresser in between. Bedrooms are on opposite side of the shared bathroom. Other than a basic table desk, a chair, and a rug, the room is unfurnished.

The apartment complex is in a quiet, safe area off the main road close to Washington Adventist University and Hospital. It’s about an 8 minute drive or 20 minutes by walking to downtown Takoma Park and the Takoma stop on the red line. There are a lot of nice restaurants in the area and a farmer’s market on Sundays. Silver Spring is nearby with more restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.

There’s a Giant supermarket and Latin supermarket called Bestway nearby. Silver Spring has a Giant, Safeway, and Whole Foods (easily reachable by car or public transportation).

You’d be signing onto the lease for a year, so a credit check will be required.

I’m a male PhD candidate at the University of Maryland. I’m quiet, clean (as in vacuum and mop the floor clean), and do a good amount of cooking (hope you like Chinese and Indian). I spend most of the day on campus, generally between 9-6 M-F. A regular gym-goer, enjoyer of city life, though I go out to restaurants and museums a little less since the pandemic.

Flexible on whether you’re looking for a roommate friends situation or two people amicably sharing a living space but doing their own separate thing.
