Queer introvert house seeking roomie with similar vibes!

A beautiful bedroom in our little North Tabor home available October 1st! Room is 10“ x 10“ with a big window looking into the backyard, a window looking to a neighborhood street, modest closet space and tons of upper cupboard space. Wood floors, shady light (because we have big yew and fir trees in the backyard), south-facing for all you plant nerds.

We’re down the street from Fred Meyer, super close to the MAX blue/red/green line and #19 bus lines. Walking distance from Mount Tabor, bus downtown in under 20 minutes! Super bike friendly, NE Davis is always populated with cyclists and runners south of Glisan. Large backyard - feel free to bring your green thumb.

As roommates, we spend a lot of time out and about or keeping to ourselves to recharge but look forward to hanging out when we cross paths and occasionally having house dinners together. We see our house as a safe, calm place to relax and take a break from the bullshit of the world. Prior to COVID, we liked to have people over for brunch and dinner parties. 10pm-8am quiet hours (like, you can be talking and goin’ about your normal life, but we usually end our dinner parties and stop playing music in the common areas and stuff by 10pm). We don’t smoke inside.

Since it IS still a pandemic, we would ask that folks please support our home in practicing transparent communication. Some of us interface with immunocompromised humans semi-regularly, some of us are newly recovered from getting accidentally exposed, so we’re just trying to continue flattening the curve. :)

It’s a big deal in our household to keep the common spaces really clean, so people who are able to and used to keeping the kitchen, living room, and bathroom clean would be a good fit. We have a strict chore rotation and it’s important for everyone’s comfort and mental health that this kind of routine and structure is respected. Write “heirloom tomato” somewhere in your email subject line so I know you read this post thoroughly. The house is already furnished so there isn’t a ton of room for more furniture. We have lots of systems to address sustainability/water use, chores/upkeep, and communication. We err on the side of direct and frequent communication via a house chat to check-in about lots of stuff. Above all, we prioritize conscientiousness and do our best to support and be mindful of each others’ quirks and preferences. We’re not perfect but we’ve learned a lot from each other + previous roommates, and we think we’ve arrived at some pretty kind and effective systems.

Utilities range from ~90 in the spring/summer months to ~100 in the colder seasons. Things went up slightly due to more WFH activity.

We’re two mixed-white queer Asian bbs and one white queer cis-guy, in our late twenties - early 30s with lots of experience living in shared housing and looking for similar age range and experience.
