I’m posting for a family member with Down’s Syndrome who’s looking for an amazing/ compassionate live in caregiver/ roommate.

Looking for a female roommate in the Longmont area to share a 2-bedroom condominium in the Golden Bear neighborhood. Private bedroom and bath, along with garage and off-street parking. Storage space is also available in the basement. Offering all rent/utilities paid for in exchange for companionship and prompting to female roommate in her mid-40s who has intellectual disabilities. You could continue to work full-time. Condo is nicely furnished; personal bedroom furniture welcomed and shared space areas decorating options will be considered to make it feel more like your home too. A small dog is welcome, but please no cats.

Your roommate will be a woman in her 40s with Down’s Syndrome who desires to remain living independently in her own home. She is very capable of maintaining her independence but needs support with some day-to-day tasks. Companionship may look like cooking dinner together or planting flowers in patio area to create a nice space together. Prompting may include reminders to take medication, put CPAP machine on at night, and for proper hygiene and wearing weather-appropriate clothing. Female can care for herself (bathing, dressing, etc). She has support staff that visits 2-3 days per week to provide some assistance and with transportation to community activities.
