About the room

The large master bedroom/bathroom suite is available for rent in early October (hopefully Oct 1st), in our comfortable, east Longmont home.

The suite, located on the 2nd floor of a 4 dbrm/2.5 bathrm house, has a large sunny SW-facing window, boasts a spacious double-sink + oversized-tub bathroom, and roomy walk-in closet with built-in shelves. Rich, warm plank flooring welcomes you in the bedroom. You’d be sharing the house with me (home owner), a second tenant and a ginger tabby cat, in a quiet neighborhood, minutes from downtown Longmont.

$950/month includes internet and utilities (electric, water, gas, trash, recycling, composting), 1 parking space in attached garage. Lease length 8 months to a year. $650 security deposit. I ask for proof of income/employment and references from previous living situations, a background check. Obtaining renter’s insurance is encouraged, though not required.

The Suite:

-Large bedroom space, 16’x15’, vaulted ceilings, central ceiling fan, large SW-facing window with blinds; single entrance on 2nd floor

-Private, large full bath, 8’x8’, double sinks, bright bar lighting, ample cabinet and drawer storage, oversized tub/shower

-Super roomy walk-in closet, 8’x5.5’, with built-in shelves, plus ain’t-goin-nowhere oak wardrobe for more drawer space

-Small in-room fridge (think, dorm fridge)

The House:

-Single family residence, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, not on a through street

-Shared, common areas on main floor: fully-stocked kitchen, nook, great room; housemate will have cabinet space

-Shared washer/dryer available on 2nd floor, just down the hall from the master suite

-A second, full-size fridge for housemate’s use

-2-car garage, with a single space for housemate parking

-Fully landscaped front and fenced back yards, with large deck/patio space for lounging, growing plants

The Neighborhood:

-Quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors, kids play outside and dog-walkers abound

-Within 5-10 minutes: downtown Longmont, Union Reservoir, Jim Hamm Nature Area, Walmart, King Soopers, YMCA

-Nearby access to east Longmont greenway paths

-10 minutes, easy access to I-25 for Front Range commutes

-30-40 minutes to Boulder; popular RTD bus transportation to Boulder is downtown

-20 minutes to Lyons and foothills trails

About the roomies

About the Housemates, 3 in total + feline:

-Me: mature female, mom to 2 grown daughters, hiker, wanna-be mountain biker, craft beer enthusiast, live music fan, half-hearted gardener, likes getting outside to a trail, a festival and being in the garden/yard

-Current (short-term) tenant: a CSU grad student busy with an internship and completing her grad courses

-The resident ginger tabby diva; she’s loud and proud - mostly cuz she’s deaf - and just wants your lap

-We are a tidy, friendly, upbeat, busy household, even as we are home much of the time due to working remotely and Coronavirus safety practices.

-We go about our days independently and may enjoy a sense of household community in evenings and weekends depending on who’s around. We’re not night owls, but occasionally have small gatherings (BC, before COVID). My daughters visit occasionally and stay in the extra bedroom.

-We LOVE our home, and hope to find someone who does too

Seeking:

-A female whose interest was piqued with this posting, ideally with a similar lifestyle who is clean, respectful, and an open communicator.

-To rent to a single, employed female with no pets. May consider a perfect fit couple for additional monthly rent.

-No smokers.

-No pets.

-Someone ready to move-in in October and can provide proof of income/employment + references from past living situations.
