I have two bedrooms in a cozy Shirlington townhome available for immediate move-in. This a split-level duplex with lots of different levels, a full size kitchen with dishwasher and gas stove, laundry on the first level, and a cute backyard to which I’m planning on adding a vegetable garden. I also have a friendly derp of a dog named Ladybug that will also be your roommate.
The smaller room, and the only one on the top floor, has a deep almost walk-in closet that can easily fit a dresser and has tall ceilings that are good for storage. You can definitely fit a queen size mattress and a desk too. One of your windows faces the backyard treeline with complete privacy. There is a shelved closet right next to your room and the bathroom, both of which you’ll share with the other tenant. This room is available for $800/month.
I signed a lease that will expire end of February 2024, so we won’t have to deal with rent increases for a while. You will need to pass a basic credit/background check in order to be added to the lease. Utilities are separate, and since I’ve only lived here for two weeks, I can’t say exactly how much they’ll be, but the previous tenants told me they weren’t bad. I do know our internet (which is 1 gig, pretty fast) is $90/month total, so $30/person. There is street parking in front of the house for which you’ll need to get a permit from the county. You can get a one month temporary permit in the meantime or park at the end of the street where the permit zone ends and you’ll be fine.

I do go out from time-to-time, but I’ll often be home, in my basement dungeon :) I enjoy playing video games, getting my gardening on, and trying to solve the world’s problems due to my INFP personality type. I am also a weed enthusiast and consider myself an intersectional feminist, if you know what the hell that means 😄
What I’m looking for: I’m open to male or female roommates. Prefer age range 25-38. LGBTQ friendly. 4/20 friendly. The most important thing is that you are respectful (be kind; don’t be sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, classist, or selfish); clean (don’t leave dishes in the sink, take out the trash/recycling, and help with vacuuming and regular chores); and a good communicator (speak up when you have issues and be sure to listen to others’ perspectives). No one is perfect, but leading with empathy tends to create a healthy environment for all and keeps the peace. Also, I’m looking for long-term roommates who are willing to sign the lease which ends at the end of February 2024 (about 16 months from now). You can always sublet if something changes.
