About the room

At the time of writing this (5pm on 9/1) I don’t have pictures. Once I’m home I’ll take some of the common areas and your room as is.

BIG CAVEAT The lease ends in July 2023 and I currently plan to move out by then. This is dependent on me building a house in the next 10 months, which there is a 50% chance of me doing. In the case that I don’t build a house, I’ll renew my lease here. But I really dislike the landlord’s business philosophy so maybe I’ll move to another rental.

2ND CAVEAT My landlord does not allow pets, namely cats and dogs. He just redid the flooring and is stingy on keeping the place nice - one more reason why I don’t like my landlord as I absolutely love dogs and animals in general.

OVERVIEW It’s a 3b2b house that was built ‘97 or so I believe. That’s worth mentioning because there’s no Ethernet outlets in the walls. For you to have Ethernet, we’d run a long cable from the living room to wherever you’d need it.

I’ve furnished the entire house with most necessities and was originally planning to live alone. But living alone has made me realize I need someone else in this house. I don’t even need to talk to you, but empty in spirit is no good for me.

A nice bonus is there’s a strip mall center that’s down the street within walking distance. There’s an H‑E‑B, pho place, and kfc. It’s a 5-10 minute walk or a 2 minute drive, though the drive is annoying and I can tell you why if you’re interested.

FOR YOU For you, furnishings include: queen bedframe+mattress+1 nightstand, and shower curtains. Shared furnishings include : washer/dryer, fridge, internet, tv, couch, kitchen table, plates, pots and pans, flatware, etc. Youd get your own bedroom, and while your bathroom is ‘privately yours most of the time’, it’s also the house public bathroom, so guests that come over will likely use your ‘private bathroom’. But, as I mention in the About Me, I rarely have friends over. And when my girlfriend comes over, she can use my bathroom.

THIRD BEDROOM The third bedroom has double doors, which is weird. So that’s being used at the WFH room. There’s an already existing desk there that I don’t use but was intended for any guest that would stay in your bedroom. You’re free to use it.

GARAGE There’s room in the garage for 2 cars but typically 1 fits nicely. We can sort out who gets that spot or if we both want to be in the garage later, I reckon.

I also have a 22“ grill but it’s kinda bent and there’s a story there.

About the roomies

CLEANLINESS I live here alone, keep relatively clean, but tbh I’ll end up leaving the occasional plate out because I’m running late to something or other. I used to live with a roommate that would party every other weekend and I’d wake the next morning to a huge mess, which id clean every time and never complain. So you won’t hear me say anything unless it gets REALLY bad.

OTHER PEOPLE My girlfriend stays over about every other weekend and I may rarely have a friend or 2 over. I mostly keep to myself, won’t make a lot of small talk, and will always respect your boundaries. Not to say I’ll never talk to you, but don’t feel pressured to make conversation if you’re not feeling it. I’m sure to behave the same.

MY JOB I work as a software engineer with MWF at home and Tues/Thurs in the office, and on those days I’m typically out of the house from late morning-evening.

MY FUN In my free time, I eat, sometimes cook, watch tv, play video games, smoke weed, or sit at my computer. I’m happy to share nearly anything, you must simply ask.

FINAL NOTE Anywho, while I pay about 2400/month, I’d only ask somewhere in the range of 800, give or take a few hundred, from you. Whatever you’re comfortable and able to afford. If this place and I interests you, feel free to ask any questions.

Lastly, you may be wondering why my preferred gender for roomies is female (idk if this info is even displayed to you), but the simple answer is this: women tend to be cleaner than men, and I don’t want a repeat of my last roommate. I never complained but that doesn’t mean it never annoyed me.
