About the room

Hello! I have a room opening up at my place, which is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom single family house in the Glen Park/Excelsior area with the only other roommate being myself. Just a 5 minute walk to Glen Park BART! Move in date is flexible.

• 1-year lease takeover from my current roommate who is on her way out. Both my name and the new tenant’s name will be on the lease for the coming year.

• Tenants are responsible for all utilities (PG&E, water, garbage, and internet) which usually come out to around $100 per month per person.

• Since it is a whole house, the security deposit is double the amount of the room’s monthly rent, total of $3,250. The landlord will allow the security deposit to be paid in two installments over the first two months of the new lease.

The house is great and gets beautiful sunlight throughout. There is a garage with a washer, dryer, and utility sink, and a parking spot available in the driveway (my own car has the spot in the garage). The bedroom for rent is 11’7“ x 15“1’ with a closet. There is an additional room off the garage that gets nice natural light is a great space for someone who would like to use it for an art practice or hobby. There’s a large backyard with a firepit and bench, and raised beds for gardening where I’ve started growing a number of different veggies.

The house is a 5-minute walk both to Glen Park BART, and up to Mission St. to catch the 14 bus line. Also, the J and the 44 are nearby, as are all the main freeways, so it’s a great location in terms of transportation.

Looking for someone mature with steady income who has a good amount of experience living with others and sharing space, preferably someone who does not WFH full time. Cleanliness is a must, especially in the kitchen as I cook often and expect the space to stay in a condition where it’s ready to be used. Someone creative with a general desire to help improve the house and use the space would be excellent.
