This goes out especially to folks and friends in the California Coachella Valley. Here in Cathedral City (near Palm Springs), I have the following Available room/master-sized bathroom for rent.

My partner and I are renting out a moderately sized Casita with its own separate entrance. It comes fully furnished (bed, desk, dresser, chairs) and has a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with a walk-in enclosed glass shower.

All utilities are paid by the owners, including solar powered electric, sewer, water, and waste disposal etc. There is free high-speed internet service, access a full personal refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Access to a shared washer and dryer. It also comes with free, twice a month cleaning out-sourced room and bathroom cleaning service.

This is single occupancy casita only with no smoking in the house, and no pets in the home belonging to room renters. The owners have one cat that stays in the main part of the home.

The 1,150.00 a month rent is due on the first of the month. There is a move-in rental agreement, and a 500.00 deposit due prior to renting. The deposit will be returned in full if the space is returned to the owner in the condition the room and bathroom were in upon the tenant moving in.

This space will most like only be rented out for approximately 2 more years, and thus should be considered a short -term rental. 90 days notice will be given prior to the end of rental availability, to give the tenant time to relocate.

Just one note, as I am getting calls and messages from people who actually want an “apartment”. This is not an apartment, not even something that can be considered an “efficiency apartment”. Apartments have a kitchen like area. This does not. One can have their own microwave and fridge (which we can provide). Apartments have you paying some or all utilities. this Casita (which is larger than a typical bedroom), for what ever it lacks, comes with all (yes all) utilities, including free internet and twice a month house keeper service and cleaning. Certainly one can pay $1,500.00 - $2,000.00 a month for a small apartment (plus pay additional money for utilities), or they can (for a limited time) make a smaller all inclusive space like this work for themselves.
This is a great temporary transitional housing arrangement for individual moving into the area.
