The apartment is a two bedroom in Edina. It’s a beautiful area that is close to several very convenient bus lines (6, 578, 537, 515) and only a 14 minute drive from downtown Minneapolis. The vacant room is 10’10 x 14’6 and has a full closet and a south facing window overlooking Edina. Outside of the room, there’s a furnished living area with a spacious balcony and an already fully equipped kitchen. I don’t mind sharing any of the things I have as long as it is used respectfully. There is also one shared bathroom in the apartment and a shared hallway walk in storage closet. There is more storage available in the basement level for an additional fee.

The amenities on the property include free and ample outside parking (and underground paid parking), bike storage, a 24 hour fitness room, an indoor pool and sauna, a seasonal outdoor pool and patio complete with a grill area, firepit, and tennis court. There is also a secure package room, laundry facilities, a community room with a small coffee bar, and a media/business room. The apartment management team is one of the best, addressing concerns and maintenance requests typically within a day of submitting them (this is always a plus). The other tenants in the building are also a joy (and very quiet!) and the area surrounding the apartment is full of options for dining and shopping. There’s also no shortage of nearby parks and other fun places to visit and plenty of green spaces in between.

Future tenants will have to go through the sign on process with the leasing office (they conduct their own background checks). There is a $45 application fee. This would be paid directly to the leasing office. The apartment does also charge an additional pet deposit and pet rent ($40/mo) for pets unless you have ESA paperwork for your companion. There is and will always be full transparency for all of the bills regarding the apartment and each tenant has the ability to view the total amounts billed and pay their share directly through the apartment’s housing portal. Currently it is just me residing in the apartment since my partner moved back to Oregon to be with family. My name is Mikael and I am a 31 year old AFAB queer person (he/they) who has lived in Minnesota for a few years now. I am currently going back to school (for computer science) but I do have a B.A. in Buddhist Studies that I finished out of state and abroad in Japan. However, I currently work an early morning bakery job here in Minneapolis that I love as well as a part time job in a college admissions office. There are no pets in the apartment right now but I welcome them.

I also want to mention that I’m a huge nerd, a fairly casual computer gamer, a writer, and pretty easy going. I also love to cook and occasionally try new things. Lastly, I’m cleanly, sociable, and respectful of boundaries and I am looking for someone who will mesh well with that.

Photos are of the current set-up of the apartment (We can talk about the gnomes, move things around, etc). I’m open to meeting, touring in person or video chat, and getting to know possible future roommates before any decision is made. I’ll be reaching out to folks but I’d love to hear from you too.
