Hi everyone - I am renewing this posting with updated information, because my current roommates’ timelines and situations have changed a bit. I now have 2-3 bedrooms available for OCTOBER 1 move in (instead of 2 bedrooms available for August move in, as previously posted).

I am renting a 4 bed, 2 bath house in Cherrywood and looking to add 2-3 people to the lease (depending on other roommates). We’re a 5-minute walk from Cherrywood Coffeehouse and a 10/15-minute walk to the restaurants on Manor. Lots of parking, and it’s a great location for cyclists, about 15 minutes to downtown by bike. The house has a front and back yard & porches, a small garage for storage, a carport, and a shared laundry room/additional living room space. Central AC and strong wifi. Utilities are billed separately and run $80-120/person depending on season. The rooms we are looking to fill range from roughly 12’ x 11’ to 14’ by 15’, and the rent will range from $555 to $665 depending on the room. While I have my own bathroom in my bedroom, the other three rooms I am looking to fill with share 1 full bathroom.

I, along with another person planning on living here, am looking for someone who will do their part in keeping shared spaces clean and organized, and most importantly someone who will respect their roommates’ sleep and work schedules. That being said, we’re social and enjoy hanging out, sharing occasional meals together, etc. We have been splitting the cost of a monthly cleaning service, but still want roommates who can keep the place clean with us, divide chores/responsibilities, etc. I am also looking for someone who can help split the costs of tools/equipment for yard work (tenant responsibility) and repairs that will also be our responsibility (I recently had the washing machine fixed). So I am ideally looking for someone who has enough income to pay rent/utilities and also split all other costs associated with maintaining the house.

I play some instruments and loving having musical roommates, but I always avoid making noise that would disrupt my roommates’ sleep or work. I ask that you consider your roommates’ sleep and work schedules if you’re going to be making noise as well.

I work remote, sometimes from home, but try to spend as much time as possible outside of the house. I bike to coffee shops and coworking spaces to work, and while my company operates on west coast hours, I usually start working around 9am. I love to exercise and get outside on a daily basis (rowing, bouldering, running, biking, hiking, etc.), play guitar (alone or occasionally with a friend), and want to get back into expressing myself through art (drawing, painting, etc.) at some point. I speak 5 languages and want to keep learning more, and hope to travel again in the near future. My social life involves a lot of live music in Austin, going out for food, and going out to swim and hike with friends.

I’m very interested in maintaining and improving the house, so would love to hear from people who want to revive and expand our (dead) garden with me, improve the yard, and also work with me on filling the house with more furniture and plants.

Pets are unfortunately not allowed on our lease (service animals may be), and I likely have someone moving in with pet allergies, so all pets are likely not going to be able to move in.
