About the roomies

We live in a seven bedroom house with 1 room currently open. Seven people probably sounds like a lot for one house but its very calm and quiet. Some of us work from home and will cross paths in the kitchen throughout the day. We often hang out together, laughing and joking or discussing more serious things. We have a weekly house dinner that everyone contributes to and will go out for spontaneous drinks on Mississippi from time to time. Historically our house has been about 50% immigrant/POC and of those of us currently in the house 3 are immigrants (from India, Ireland, Germany), and 2 are white from the US and one is Indian from US.

We’re looking for someone who wants to contribute and participate in our house activities including social things and chores. We’re hoping whoever moves in will be our friend and enjoy spending time with us and that you’ll feel comfortable communicating needs and boundaries. We welcome friendly personalities who want to contribute to our home.

Our house is one of four houses in a community of roughly 25 people. There is a main house that everyone here has access to with a large kitchen, dining room and living room as well as laundry and storage. 25 people may sound overwhelming but it’s still quite easy to get your alone time without being disturbed. As a community we get together for parties, meals, and monthly meetings.

We have one basement room (~$900) available. All of the rooms have large windows and their own bathroom. If you think you’d be a good fit in our home or would like to know more please reach out. In your response please tell us a little about yourself including:

What does home mean to you? What does community mean to you? What are your hobbies and interests? What are your needs in a home? Anything else you think is interesting/exciting/relevant
