I have a room at Hawaii Kai for ($1,300/month) with utilities included. The room has A/C, microwave, small fridge, and computer with Internet (HiFi). We have a pool and pier with two kayaks available to have fun and keep in shape. We are two blocks from a beach park with sandbar, five minutes from Hanauma Bay, voted as the Best Beach in the United States in 2016, and 15 min from University of Hawaii at Manoa. The neighborhood is very quiet, and the place is excellent for students or elderly. It is required to pay the first month and a deposit before enter the unit.
