Oxford Street

We have a 3BR/2BA on Oxford Street in Cambridge, down the street from Harvard Law or around a corner from the GSD. We are now looking for 1 housemate to join our place on August 1, 2022 for a 12-month lease.

Our apartment is situated between Porter and Harvard Squares. It’s a quiet neighborhood, but still just a few blocks away from the hustle, bustle, and, most importantly, Honeycomb (ice cream), Dear Annie (wine bar), and Bagelsaurus (bagels). The unit is on the top floor, has three varied-sized bedrooms in addition to two bathrooms (!), and both a living and dining room (!!). The apartment is sunny, spacious, and mostly furnished*, with laundry in-unit (!!!) and private back porch (!!!!).

The rent for the unit as a whole is $5000, and our rooms will be priced on a differential according to their size and location in the unit. The available room is a front bedroom ($1750 for ~148sqft) which will share the second, back bathroom with Housemate 1/S who is in the back bedroom. Housemate 2/J has the middle room and will claim the first, middle bathroom. Utilities are split and are approximately $75 a month/person. Housemate 1/S has lived here for a couple of years, going on a third for 2022-2023. He is 31, originally from Memphis and works as a researcher at Northeastern Law with a background in design, and is currently planning a research project at HLS next year. He has lived in Pittsburgh and New York City. His partner is a Ph.D. student at Harvard in education (she stays over occasionally). Outside of work, he frequents local libraries and small movie theatres, plus he enjoys crafting playlists.

Housemate 2/J is an incoming Ph.D. student in government and social policy at Harvard this fall. He is 26, originally from Denver and graduated from Columbia University in 2018 with a degree in sociology. Since then, he has lived and worked in New York City at one of Columbia’s research centers on an oral history project about the Obama administration. Outside of school and work, he likes to play basketball and go to movies and museums.
