About the room

Intro: Hey everyone, our 150 sq. ft. Master Bedroom will be available starting September 1st! Looking for someone willing to commit to a 12-month lease with decent credit and makes at least $52K for us to meet income requirements. Additional details below.

The Room: The Master Bedroom is roughly 10’x15’ with a 7.5’x5’ bathroom ensuite. Two tall windows provide great natural lighting throughout the day and access to the fire escape. Comes unfurnished.

The Apartment (3 Bed, 2 Bath): Around 1,100 sq. ft., the apartment is on the top floor of a 3-floor walk-up. High ceilings throughout and an open-concept kitchen/living area make the place feel even more spacious than it already is. Will be semi-furnished come September. Central heating and air. Rooftop access from the fire escape or the stairwell ladder. (These pictures are from last year, so our layout is somewhat different in the shared living area.)

The Neighborhood: Situated between the Halsey - L, Wilson - L, Halsey - J, and Knickerbocker - M stops. The area is diverse, mostly residential, and there are a good number of local restaurants, bars and breweries, some parks nearby, and the best local deli is just a block away.

The Vibe:

  • Respectful of the Shared Space….. Cleaning up after yourself; putting things away after use; joint household responsibilities.
  • Respectful of Private Space….. No unknown entry into each other’s rooms without prior permission; knocking before entry if a door is closed.
  • Social….. Daily conversation is welcome; daytime, nighttime, and overnight guests are welcome - notice is appreciated, but not a big deal if none is given; gatherings are great - would prefer to coordinate if hosting an event.
  • Tolerant….. Not all of our opinions, viewpoints, values, or beliefs have to align, but we should still do our best to coexist and find mutual respect.
  • Open/Safe….. Communication is everything whether it’s positive or negative matters; finding constructive ways to address issues; no belittling or hostility.
  • Fun….. We are in NYC, and we are living our lives, so don’t be a “stick in the mud.” Be you. Be open. Do what you want and what makes you happy.

About the roomies

Two of us are former coworkers, and our third roommate is someone we found on here last year! Both of them are moving out at the end of Aug., so it’ll just be me. I’m looking for someone to fill the master bedroom and either: A) split the apartment [and the smaller side “bedroom”] $1,590(you)/$1,455(me), or; B) just take the master bedroom for the $1,250, and I’ll take the other two.
