Private room in furnished 1930’s South Park bungalow. Beautifully restored 2 bedroom 1 bath unit with hardwood floors, rooftop patio, full-sized kitchen, breakfast room, living room with fireplace and an in-unit washer and dryer.

My apartment is 2 blocks from Balboa Park in a quiet residential neighborhood with lots of street parking and is close to restaurants, shopping and a Target. There are some great restaurants within walking distance and it’s easy to commute downtown or any other part of the city.

The room is furnished with a small desk and full sized bed (will need to provide own linens), has it’s own walk in closet and size storage drawers built into the bed frame.

The apartment has a front garden which I haven’t planted yet but will do soon and small front porch. There is also a rooftop patio that I’m working on furnishing for outdoor entertaining or just lounging around. The shared living spaces include a large living room with working fireplace, separate dining room, kitchen, and laundry.

Credit checks are required with the application and will do a screening prior.

Who is an ideal candidate? - Clean and nonsmoker (including cannibis), respectful of professional hours and communal spaces, friendly and pays on time

What is required? - First Month Payment Upfront ($1375) - Security deposit ($1375) - half or yearly contract preferred

You would be living with one other person (me). I’m a professional ecologist who just moved to San Diego. I’m sometimes gone for 2-3 days at a time for field work but I’m tidy and love to hang out when I’m around. I usually work from home 1 day a week. I’m looking for a roommate who is tidy, social and mindful of shared bills and wfh hours. I’m into crafting, gardening, hiking and nature and am pretty nerdy. I cook regularly and enjoy having company over, having dinner parties, game nights or just to watch a movie. I’m more of a chill social gatherings person then a party hard person. I have no issue with guests coming over as long as it’s respectful of everyone’s space.

Good communication with my roommate is vital! I would like to be friends with my roommate and not just strangers who share a house. Cleanliness is a must. Will expect roommate to help clean the common areas weekly. I’m also not a vegetarian or vegan, I cook meat in this house- full disclosure to those sensitive. Will cook you yummy meals on occasion as an added bonus!

I don’t personally have any moral issues with cannabis but it gives me extremely bad headaches and I would prefer someone who doesn’t partake or can enjoy it elsewhere. Smoking of all kinds in not allowed on the property, even outside (sorry landlords rules).
