I’m looking for a roommate to share my 3 bedroom house. I would consider a couple (rent for 2 would be $1600).

Because I am not sure how I will feel with a roommate long-term, I would like this to be considered a transitional move with (about) a 6 month lease. If things worked out swimmingly, I would consider extending.

Available is one small bedroom with a small closet. Room has a fan and is furnished. You can bring your own furnishings if you like. If not, I plan to add a floor rug, window fixtures, a small dresser and wall art to the room in the photo.

There is plenty of storage in the finished basement and shed, lots of bathroom storage (room for you to have your own private areas), linen & coat storage, etc. There are 1 1/2 bathrooms. The photos of the bathroom are mid-reno. The floors are being put in this week and the mirror walls will be done by 6/1. The half-bath in the basement works, but is not pretty. I have plans down the road for it, but it’s great to have as an extra.

The yard is large and I have a mid-level fence and a small friendly Shih Tzu, so I would consider your pet(s), including an inside cat, if they got along. Details would need to be discussed, as I have just roofed my chicken house and will have several hens soon. It’s a corner lot and there is a firepit (and I think it might also be a smoker bc it has a chimney) out back.

House details - I’ve blown the wall out so the main level is large, sunny, modern and pretty. It’s in progress. I will be staining the cupboards a taupe, putting up the back splash (tiles on counter ready to go up), getting something on the windows and painting the walls. Table not show because I’m getting a new one soon. Also getting bar stools for the counter and track lighting (updated lighting and other details may come after your move-in).

The neighborhood is SO conveniently located. I can get to UNCG in 5 mins, downtown in 9 mins, the airport in 13 mins, the major highways in 3 mins. It is working class with friendly conscientious neighbors. I’m located in an insular spot that makes foot-traffic off of Merritt inconvenient. I think it makes the area a bit safer. The neighborhood is great for walking with nice green areas, a nice little park, and a school up the road.

I will need references, both rental and personal. You’ll need a steady income. My basic no-nos are cigarette smoking (the smoke grosses me out), lack of cleanliness (dishes left to smell in the sink, smelly laundry, etc) or sloppy drunkenness. As long as you have your life (relatively) together with no raging issues, I mind my own business and expect a roommate to do the same, while being friendly :-).

Rent is $1200 per month, all utilities included. This includes electricity, gas, water & sewer, and internet. I don’t get cable, so you’d need to get that if you wanted it. I keep the yard up so you wouldn’t need to help if you didn’t want to. There is a $1200 refundable deposit.

I’d love to show you around if you think it’s a good fit based on the above info. I’d love to have a plan early, since I’m so busy with the reno. There are lots of other details I’d be happy to discuss. For instance, I might be able to accommodate an electric vehicle (with a small monthly charge).

About me - I’m a 420 friendly youngish hippie who saw The Grateful Dead in a VW Bus. I cook a lot, often Indian food, so you need to be OK with cooking smells. I am a certified mushroom forager. I work from home running my business selling collectible and used books online. The large bedroom here is my office, so I’m here almost constantly. I take the other small bedroom.

One more thing about me. I believe in equal rights and love. My grandfather fought the bad guys in WWII. My home is not welcome to anyone who has even remotely supported insurrectionists, fascists and/or racists.
