About the room

There are two bathrooms in the apartment which is bright, with large common space area of living-room and kitchen. Much privacy is provided by the rooms being on opposite ends (yours is facing the front with view of the street, while mine faces the back).

The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a three story walk up with a wonderful view outside of private homes. We are located in a safe neighborhood, within walking distance to Queens Center Mall, Elmhurst Hospital, restaurants, banks, supermarkets, a laundromat (3 blocks) and 6 blocks to the subway M and R train (Woodhaven Blvd Station). It takes within 30 minutes to commute to Mid-town Manhattan.

The place has been recently renovated and we have a landlord who attends to problems speedily. In addition, this is the cleanest apartment I have ever lived in. There are no roaches and I’d like to room with someone that appreciates and is able to maintain this.

Aside to the second bathroom which will be yours, the room available for rent is medium in size, with hardwood floors, view to the front of the apartment and a balcony. It is unfurnished, but can come furnished as roommates have left behind several pieces of furniture, including a bookcase and twin-size bed.

What I am looking for is someone reliable/responsible, who has a steady source of income, is quiet, nice, respectful, and clean. I also would like someone with limited guests or family over, not overdoing it, as home is to be a sanctuary, a place to recharge. Overall, I want a roommate who can communicate or reason about common issues in honesty and consideration and it doesn’t matter if they are male, female, gay, or anything in between. Also, perhaps being impersonal is better for a rooming situation, but I would not be opposed to making a friend out of this. I do like to have my privacy in my room, but we can also get together to do something that we have in common.

The utilities of gas, electricity and internet are not included in the rent and your share would amount monthly to about $65-$120 depending on the season.

The room is for SINGLE OCCUPANCY only.

To move in, 1 month rent and 1 month security deposit are required, pay-stubs, tax return and photo identification.

The move-in date is April 1st and afterward when the room will be vacant. There may be a chance to move in even earlier depending on my roommate.

Once more, I wish to stress the basic requirements of what I’m looking for: clean and cleaning up after oneself, paying on time, quiet (guests maybe once or twice a week and notifying the other if anyone is coming over).

If you feel this resonates with you and we can be potential roommates, send an e-mail my way with more about yourself and a contact number where I may reach you that we may exchange a few words.

Thank you

About the roomies

I am a female, quiet, clean and respectful, friendly, but non-interfering and like to give others their privacy and space and in the same way wish for the same in return. I have been working as an elementary school teacher for many years and most recently as an administrator.

Young at heart, brutally honest, spiritual but not religious, my list of interests is endless but amongst them is exercising, going to carnivals, bowling, billiards, miniature golf, boardgames, reading, big on music, movies, and I love to try out different kinds of food. The character traits that would describe me are the very same as the ones I am seeking for in a roommate.

Having moved here for more than six years and loving the apartment seeking someone reliable/responsible to rent the available room. There are two bathrooms in the place and it is located in a nice area convenient to all. Covid-wise I am vaccinated and take the proper measures/precautions.

I am looking forward to hearing from you with a little more about yourself and what you are seeking.
