About the room

We have a room available on May 1st.

The rent is $1120.00 a month and includes water. Gas, electric and internet usually come out to between $100 and $150 a month (electric being the big variable). We also all pitch in equally for communal household stuff like dish soap and paper towels, but that’s usually $20 a month, if that. The only annual cost is renters insurance, which is roughly around $100 a year, but you won’t have to worry about that this year. The security deposit is $1050.00. The total due upon being added to the lease is $2170.00.

The room is about 160 Square feet with good closet space. It is an unfurnished room, however all other common areas are furnished (though we can make room if you have cooking stuff you prefer using).

This is a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom duplex. There is street parking (only restrictions are street cleaning) and I’d be willing to share my parking spot (we get 2 spots, and I’m trying to see if the landlord would be willing to allow space for a 3rd). The duplex has an in-unit washer/dryer, refrigerator, gas stove, gas oven and a dishwasher.

Must be ok with dogs, as I have a very friendly Belgian Shepherd mix and my neighbor has a little dog as well. While my roommate and I are lovers of animals, we would prefer not having another pet in the house. There is really only enough space for my dog Sandy to operate, so adding another animal may be a tight fit. If you have a therapy animal, we would be happy to discuss.

The landlord charges I believe $65 for the application and a credit check, but it might be less.

As stated, the room is available May 1st, but should you be interested and get added to the lease, you can start moving stuff in April 15th/17th. Once our current roommate has his bed at his new place, you can move in fully.

About the roomies

I am a paralegal in the film industry and my roommate is a professional musician. The person moving out is one of our friends who is moving in with his partner. My roommate and I are easy to get along with, and we mind our own space, but also hang out and watch shows, watch sports, occasionally have game nights, write/play music and so on. We are very straightforward folks who talk out any issues we have rather than let them fester. We would like someone who fits that vibe.
