About the roomies

I’m a retired environmental science professor. I started as a 7-9 earth science teacher. (Yes, I was that crazy 8th grade science teacher you remember) My university specialties were food, energy, and water (science & policy).
I’ve been to over 40 different countries and have a non-US-centric worldview. It is informed by boots-on-the-ground experience, not just textbooks. My go-to newspaper is “The Economist”.
I was a rugby player for 23 years and coached woman’s rugby for 15. I scuba dive, cook (too well) make beer, and garden ( I like flowers, hot peppers, garlic, and greens) to keep myself busy plus I own two rental units. I try to see live music twice a week and play trivia.
Hockey is my favorite sport and I’m a bit of a fanatic for the NCAA championships (congrats Denver) and Lord Stanley’s Cup.
I like most music except EDM. It’s usually on out back. There are over 23,000 songs in my digital collection. It’s my weakest trivia category after Pop culture in general.
You can put a wireless TV in your room. There is internet but no cable. I tend to watch PBS and the Disney channel. There is minimal extra storage space.
Washer and dryer on-premise and the main house gets cleaned weekly. I have all the most “essential “ cooking tools you need. There are two refrigerators. If you can’t cook let me do it ;-)
You must be 21 or over 30 preferred. A job is a must unless you are a full-time student and spend time at school. I live here with another professional male, who is only in St. Pete approximately 50% of the time. This is a great location and home for someone who travels or just needs a place in St. Petersburg on a regular basis. I can arrange something short-term for someone who travels on a varying schedule. A traveling medical professional looking for a short term lease would work nicely.
I have a no dogs, cats, gerbils, rats, ferrets, fish, hamsters or birds policy. If you have a pet tarantula that’s fine.
I do run a background check but not with this website.
