Laura's room

Hello! I’m looking for someone to rent an open room in my current apartment. My current roommate is moving out to go back to school and the room will be open at the beginning of April. The apartment is a decent sized 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit only a few miles from Marietta Square and approximately 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta. The neighborhood is quiet and close to groceries and fast food, approximately 15 minutes from shopping! It is on the first floor. Each bedroom is carpeted and has its own private, full bathroom. The living room is spacious and has lots of good natural light, with vinyl ‘wood’ floors, and a fireplace. The kitchen has all of the basic appliances: gas stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, etc. There is a separate walk in laundry room with a washer and dryer. I have lots of plants and two cats. There are two swimming pools in the complex and a small dog park. That’s all I can think of for now, but can answer any other questions you might have!

About me: I’m 32 years old, non-smoking, female, working professional. LGBT+/queer/420 friendly. I like to cook, hike, kayak, and do pretty much anything outside. But really when I get home from work and on the weekends I just want to relax. I have a girlfriend that is usually over the on the weekends, but we mostly just chill, cook, watch movies, or go out hiking…so we won’t invade your space, be overly noisy, or have any parties. My two cats’, that are very friendly and extremely cute, names are Charlie and Archie. They are clean kitties and have never gone potty outside of their litter boxes. I’m pretty chill and very friendly, but I’m also pretty shy and mostly keep to myself at home. I like to keep the apartment clean. I don’t need it to be spotless, but definitely picked up and clean.   

What I’m looking for in a roommate: Someone in their late 20’s – early 30’s. My current lease is up in December, but I would really like to renew it after that. So, I am looking for someone willing to consider/possibly commit to that. I’m looking for someone who is a non-smoker (or willing to smoke outside only), LGBT+/queer friendly, pet friendly, laid-back lifestyle, reliable transportation and job, committed to doing their share of cleaning in shared spaces. It’d be awesome to room with someone that has similar interests as me and possibly hang out or hike together, but that’s definitely NOT a deal breaker. Unfortunately the lease only allows for two animals, so you would not be able to bring a pet in. New roommate would need to go through the apartment’s application process in order to take over current roommate’s place in the lease. The room you will be moving into is not in the pictures as my roommate is in the process of moving and it’s not picture worthy right now. But, my room is in the picture and is basically the same size and shape as yours. You can also see the layout of your room in a screen shot of the whole apartment layout.  

Rent and Utility costs are:

Rent: $700 per person/month

Gas: about $40-$50 per person/month (varies with the season)

Electric: $40-60 per person/month (varies with the season)

Internet: $60 per person/month

Renter’s Insurance (mandatory in our lease): $15 per person/month

Water: about $15 person/month
