About the room
House is about 1,400 square feet. 2 bed, 1 bath , but actually has 5 rooms plus Kitchen and bath with an attached garage/shop. All rooms are shared, except for bedrooms. The bedroom up for grabs is 10x14 with a large closet, and has attic access for extra storage. It’s the only upstairs room, (over the shop) and has access to the bathroom without going through the rest of the house. Washer and dryer in garage. House has one cat, roaming free during the day, kept in at night. Street parking only. Street parking immediately in front of house is almost a guarantee. 14 minute walk to El Cerrito Del Norte Station, or a 4 minute drive. House has a beautiful newly remodeled kitchen with a bay view, and a large kitchen porch for outdoor dining when the weather’s nice. Neighborhood is somewhat upscale, but not overly so. Very quiet and safe. Grocery outlet four minutes away just down the hill.
About the roomies
East Bay native, homeowner, and UC Berkeley Alumnus. I’ve recently retired from a 30 year career in film production and stagecraft, and I’m proud to have been a union worker. I’ve travelled a fair amount - visited over 20 countries, and I’ve been through all 50 states. At home, I like to work in my shop, fix things and build things for the neighbors, and do projects around the house. Last summer I did a full camper van conversion with solar. I ride an electric mountain bike that I like to take out to do bikepacking and trail riding, and I also use it to run errands around town. I’ve ridden a motorcycle for over 40 years, but it’s never been a lifestyle thing. Married for over twenty years, now separated for seven, we raised one son who’s recently graduated from U.C.
