Big cute house in NE Denver with a growing farm and two rooms available, cool queer/trans people of color (Q/TPOC) strongly preferred! Are you our new best friend?

We have TWO bedrooms available in the house we rent– two of the three bedrooms upstairs which share a full bathroom (shower with a tub). The monthly rent is a sliding scale from $660-790 per month and includes all utilities plus internet. The attached photos show the shared spaces of the house (living room, kitchen, and bathroom), and the last three photos are one of the available rooms (approx 9’x10’ without the closet). The house is 3 bedrooms and one bath upstairs, plus a basement with additional room and 3/4 bath. We all share a kitchen, and a washer and dryer in the basement. It’s located in Northeast Denver in the Montbello neighborhood. I’ve lived in my house for almost 8 years, it’s in a safe suburban area 20-30 min from downtown Denver, mostly home to families, but not for the persnickety. One of Denver’s last strongholds against gentrification. DON’T BE too particular, DO BE down to share space with lively neighbors who do home firework shows in the summer. It’s a big house with plenty of sun. Huge (4000+ sq ft) backyard with small BBQ grill, 16-ft trampoline for doing all your own stunts, and a sustainable micro farm for fresh produce and herbal medicine. Blocks away from Denver’s biggest wildlife reserve, which is free and great for hikes and sightseeing. Good public transport (8 min drive or one 15 minute bus to the Peoria Light rail station with A line access to Union Station).

Hi, I’m Ren (he/they)! I’m a busy 27 year old currently living with my one roommate. We’re queer people of color looking to meet more Q/TPOC food/plant/animal loving friends who like to have fun together, creative and progressive minds, people who want to build an intentional network of support and love…aaand if this is already sounding crazy to you, we probably won’t click, lol. We have two rooms open at the moment and are taking our time to find new roommates who are the right fit!

More about me: I’m a student at CU Denver (geography major & social justice minor). Professionally, I do community organizing work. We are both neurodivergent, understanding of neurodivergent folks and ask that you be the same. Healthy approaches to conflict resolution, open, direct, and honest communication, and willingness to embrace a little weirdness are a must. Looking forward to having cute house meetings with you about how to respect each other’s boundaries :)

We are currently looking for folks without pets as we are at CATpacity with one adorable tortoiseshell tabby cat, Jasper, who loves people but is not a huge fan of other animals (inquire about the VERY limited exceptions for other female cats). And we have two sheep which we rotate between the backyard and other farms/gardens! Folks with at least some interest in farming or gardening, plants/animals/livestock, homesteading, and/or natural/herbal medicine are strongly preferred- my quarantine project is Pentacle Farm, a small urban farm in our backyard where we grow (and preserve) a lot of our produce, and I’d love to share it with others who will love it like we do.
