One room for rent in a two bed, two bath apartment. Available May 1st, 2018 for a 12 month lease.

Rent: $825 ea. per month ($1,650 total) Utilities: ~$80 ea. per month for internet, gas and electric. Water and trash included. Some months are cheaper than others depending on how much we run the AC/heat.

$50 application fee, which includes credit check First months rent due at signing.

I’ve lived in this apartment with a roommate since summer 2017. I will be re-signing the lease when it comes up for renewal on May 1st; however my current roommate is relocating for work, so I need to find someone to take her place.

This is a second floor apartment in a 3 story 1930 historic, secured-entry, corridor style walk-up on a quite, residential street in the up-and-coming Uptown/Sheridan Park neighborhood. Zoned street parking is available through the City of Chicago and parking is usually pretty easy to find right out front.

The apartment was a gut rehab and renovated in spring 2017; my current roommate and I are the first to live in the unit since the renovations, so it’s essentially still brand new! The apartment comes furnished, except for the vacant room and bathroom, which will both be painted and cleaned before you move-in. The available room fits a queen bed and two or three large dressers, depending on how you arrange them. The vacant room also features and en suite bath, so there is tons of privacy!

I already have all the communal kitchen necessities (plates, cups, mugs, silverware, coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, etc.) but of course room can be made if you need to bring stuff of your own. We will have individual cabinets for our dry food and the fridge/freezer space is shared.

About me: I am a young female professional, originally from Southern Illinois. I moved to Chicago 2 years ago. I work in the Loop, Monday through Friday on the usual 9-5 grind. On week nights I am a bit of a homebody; after a long day at work I like coming home and veggin’ out on the couch with Netflix and a glass of wine. My weekends during the winter months aren’t much different, but come warmer weather I enjoy going to the beach or trying new things and exploring the city. My days of partying ‘til the sun comes up are behind me, but occasionally I still like to go out on the town and “tear it up”. I have a boyfriend of a little over a year and a half who lives out in the Northwest suburbs. Some weekends I stay with him or he also stays over at the apartment from time to time. He has a spare key in case of emergencies or to look after my cat when I’m out of town. My cat is a very sweet and friendly 10 lbs, tubby, orange, tabby house cat. Fixed and declawed in the front, she has been with me since my freshman year of high school when I adopted her as a kitten from the Humane Society. Most people who meet her fall in love with her- even those that say they’re not cat people. But all the same, you’ll have to be OK with living with a cat.

About you: I’m looking for another young, female professional to be my roommate. I prefer to live with someone who will be considerate, respectful, clean and tidy. If I make a mess I clean it up and I expect the same from my roommate. We will each have our own rooms and individual bathrooms and can be as messy as we desire in those spaces :) While I’ll expect that we maintain a level of respect for one another’s belongings and space. I want you to feel at home in the apartment because it will be your home and it will be your space as much as it’s mine!
