I’m looking for a new roommate for the first time since 2016 :(

I am not in a rush to fill this room, and am really looking for a good fit!!

I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with a yard, and garage in the Greenwood/Green Lake/Licton Springs area. I have lived here for 11 years, and am very fortunate to have a great landlord. The room available for rent is the master bedroom upstairs with a private full bath, and private deck with a view of Mt Tahoma! The room is large, and has a spacious closet. The deck is on the south side of the house, and gets lots of sun. There is enough room out there for a table, chairs, and gardening! The upstairs also holds the kitchen and living area. The entire house was recently recarpeted, and your room and bathroom have been deep cleaned and repainted.

Ample street parking, close to bus lines, walking distance to bars/restaurants/breweries. Washer/dryer in the garage. LOTS of storage.

Room is available now, but I’m not in a rush and will wait for the right person.

Rent is $1100/month, not including utilities. Utilities are between $50-200 a month, as lights/water/sewage/garbage is billed bi-monthly. I can give more specific breakdowns and averages if you need.

$100 non-refundable security deposit, plus first and last month’s rent (can be paid over 3 months). I prefer a longer lease, but willing to consider shorter for the right person.

Pictures and videos available upon request- I just don’t like posting my home publicly! (I don’t want anyone stealing them and trying to scam anyone!) I will also send pictures of the dog.

About me: I’m in my 30s, cis het white woman with a 9 year old border collie mix. I work in social services, and interact with vulnerable populations, so I am fully vaccinated and boosted, and following all guidelines/recommendations (you must be, too). I care a lot about how my actions and behaviors impact others. My friends describe me as caring, approachable, and dedicated. I pay attention to local, national and global politics. I voted for Nikkita Oliver, Lorena Gonzalez and Nicole Thomas-Kennedy in the November elections. I’m a homebody, and prefer to spend my off-time doing my own thing. That said, I like being friends with the people I live with! I enjoy gardening, and have both indoor and outdoor plants. I enjoy listening to podcasts, doing puzzles, and working on projects around the house. I like nature, and going rock hunting, but I won’t be getting up at 5:00 AM for a sunrise hike. I rarely drink, and don’t smoke weed (anymore), but don’t mind if you do either- responsibly of course.

My best friend/roommate of 9 years (thanks, Craigslist!) moved 6 blocks away in April, is available as a reference, and will answer any questions you have about living with me!

About you: Must LOVE dogs. It won’t be enough to tolerate them, sorry! I will occasionally ask for help watching her if I’m away, and feeding her if I’m home late. She will consider you part of her family. My pup is friendly, super smart, and has a ton of character. She is very well behaved and knows a lot of fun tricks. I’ve gotten lucky with previous roommates who have incorporated her into their walks and hikes, and ideally, you will too! (Not a dealbreaker though, I am looking into getting a dogwalker) I work from the office, so she would love for you to work from home, or at least get home earlier than I do! The lease will not allow for any other pets. While my dog isn’t aggressive, she does not want to share her space with other dogs, and is not cat friendly.

Must be anti-racist and have a strong desire to smash the patriarchy. Prefer to live with women or non-binary people, willing to consider men. LGBTQIA welcome! May consider couples. Prefer 28-40, so we’re in a similar stage of life!
