I am a 26 year old female freelance artist and designer looking to occupy my spare bedroom.

I have been living in the apartment for about two years now and am looking to resign a year lease with a room mate that is a good fit. I am open to a shorter term if the fit is right. The space is wonderful and quiet. It is an older vintage building with lots of unique character. The apartment is fully furnished with my things, although we can discuss working in any additional furniture if it is realistic. I have put a lot of work into DIY renovations and making the place a cozy home. The room is about 9ft x 9ft. It was just repainted, cleaned and ready to go.

A little about myself, I work from home, generally from my room or at the neighbors (also work freelance). I rarely use the common areas to work and keep to myself throughout the day as I am on the clock. After hours I am very laid back and spend my time cooking, relaxing or playing music. I will always respect reasonable playing hours. I like to get creative or do yoga, light incense or play records in the common areas. I am generally a pretty quiet room mate. I will have a guest or two over about once or twice a month, usually for a meeting or dinner. I am into esoteric studies and science, really nerd out over quantum physics and design. I am also a founder of a social enterprise that does pro-bono communication services for social justice organizations fighting for change.

What I am looking for in a room mate is someone that respects the space and is reliable with communication and responsibilities. I am not a clean freak but generally like the place to stay tidy and wiped down. There is no dishwasher so dishes typically are washed within 24 hours of use. I am very friendly and sociable but also receptive to when space is desired. I will never be pesky and like to be direct in any communication regarding the arrangement. It really is an awesome, tranquil place and ideally would love someone with a similar lifestyle.

Your room is $650 per month. Utilities are roughly $50 per month when split evenly.

There is a required $550 security deposit for move in that will be returned at the end of the lease if no damages are determined. If you think you might be a good fit, I would love to hear from you.
