You can rent a room in a beautiful 1911 home, in one of the nicest neighborhoods in town and within walking distance of the RiverFront park, public boat ramps and downtown. We are also just a short drive or bike ride (we have bikes you can use) to the St. Johns River State College AND only 40 from Flagler in St. Augustine. We are hoping to attract college students or single working folk. For employment, it’s only a 10-15 minute drive to most of the major employers in town, such as the hospital, Georgia Pacific, the Power Plant, etc.

Our home has 6 bedrooms and 2 kitchens. We are renting an upstairs room, you will have a private room, a shared bath AND a shared kitchenette with a full size fridge! Of course, you also have the run of the WHOLE house as well, with formal dining room (invite friends for a dinner party, just ask!), big eat in kitchen downstairs as well, and more!

One of the best features of our home is a huge front porch, which is perfect for morning coffee with the neighborhood peacocks, or even socializing with friends.

ALL utilities are included, plus WiFi and we have a nice (free) laundry room available as well where we provide laundry soap for you. We will even wash your sheets and fold them while you are at work, if you just bring them down.

Minimal house rules, just to be considerate of others: ** Quiet. If you are watching something or listening to music, keep volume low or use bluetooth headphones (we even have some you can use - just ask). ** No smoking inside (outside on porch is OK)
** Non drinkers preferred (or light, occasional is fine).
** Must be clean. We do vacuum and clean carpets for you regularly (we will let you know in advance) so it’s helpful that the floor is clear and room organized.
** No cooking or open food storage in room, we have two kitchens available… a good sized pantry is upstairs as well as storage in hall. Storing non-opened food is fine, of course, we are just looking to keep bug issues at bay, as this IS Florida, lol. ** Criminal background check will be done. Do not apply if you won’t pass… no need to waste the fee.

This is a “Grannies Boarding House” kinda vibe! The room is oversized, with a sitting area as well as the QUEEN sized bed. All linens are provided.

Furnished (Queen bed), closet, PLUS shared kitchenette and upstairs bath. There are actually 2 kitchens and 2 baths you can use (downstairs are second options) plus the house has a lovely front porch for sitting out and enjoying morning coffee on. We have neighborhood peacocks… they are friendly and will take food from your hand.

Just five blocks to the downtown and RIVERFRONT, so walking distance and there are 6-7 places to eat in walking distance plus Steamboats has a lively weekend crowd. The bus line picks up 4 blocks away and, if you have a car, it’s just about a 40-50 minute drive to St. Augustine, Gainesville or the BEACH!

$1000 per month actually saves you money because it INCLUDES utilities, free use of laundry room, 2 kitchens, bicycles and WiFi.

Big advantage is that move in requires only the first month of rent ($1000). To make it easy we can even take a credit card for first month (cash after)! After that you can renew as you get paid (weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc., your choice). We don’t ask for a lease so you can move out whenever… making this perfect if you are looking for a temporary place for just a few months.

Did you notice you have two bicycles that are “house bikes” that you can borrow? Great if you don’t have regular transportation.

Notes: we have cats. I prefer someone who works outside the home and/or is very quiet (headphones when watching movies or listening to music) as I myself work from home over zoom and need quiet during the day. We love all people! Our home is peaceful, serene and like a community… think of it like “Grannies Boarding House” … we treat people like family.

We are a couple (Sue and Chris) with indoor-outdoor cats. Chris is a truck driver and I am semi-retired but work from home part time.

Chris and I both love to cook and occasionally invite our tenants to join us for a “family meal!”

We are easy to get along with, our home is culturally, ethnically and LGBTQ friendly. The only people that would not get along here are “jerks.” We all treat each other like friends and family and help each other out when needed.

Other current tenants include a Circle K manager, a retired military police officer (with a quiet dog), and a young man that works at Walmart. Despite the number living here our home is very quiet and peaceful… only two of us are generally here during day and we are all very respectful of noise levels.
