About the room

I am a GWM looking for a roommate to share my splendidly spirited and very comely home. Built c. 1910 in the Prairie style—part of the Arts & Crafts design movement—this three bedroom home is extremely quirky and has considerable charm. The house offers a washer and dryer, ample storage and high ceilings. Street parking is available directly in front of the house.

The available room is a large upstairs bedroom, which is approximately 11.5 ft. x 16.15. It has beautiful light courtesy of three large windows, original hardwood floors and generous closet space. You would have a private bathroom that has an antique claw foot tub. The room is available unfurnished or furnished (my preference,) as I have many great pieces I am glad to provide. Rent is $700 a month. I am asking for a month’s security equivalent to the rent in addition to the first month’s rent.

Outside there is a huge front porch which will be idyllic on the three or four summer days that aren’t so hot that we’re beaten back into the house, which has central air and heat. As time goes by, I will be landscaping the outdoor space. If you have a green thumb, you will be very happy with the outdoor space (and I will be very grateful, as I am, perhaps, the only person who could not keep a succulent alive.)

I am a transplanted New Yorker who moved here three years ago. I work as a freelance writer and tend to be home quite a bit. I am easygoing and considerate. Please feel free to contact me with questions.

About Old East Dallas:

Old East Dallas is a community consisting of several neighborhoods in east Dallas, Texas, (USA). In 1890, the city was annexed into Dallas, making Dallas the largest city in Texas.[1] Contrary to what its name implies, East Dallas is rich with culture both old and new; after the annexation, entrepreneurs and creatives occupied then shabby warehouses, turning them into clubs and venues, bringing culture and many social scenes that still thrive today in what is now Deep Ellum, among other neighborhoods of this district.

About the roomies

I am a writer and creative through and through. Words I would use to describe myself would be funny; serious; bookish; edgy; demanding; forgiving; stylish; snobby; humble; compassionate; pedantic; dramatic; loyal. I live here by myself– well there are two of us if you count my hatred for Donald Trump and what he has done to our country. What else? Well, I don’t text while driving.
