Two private bedrooms are available in an owner-occupied house in Melvindale. Each room may be rented separately for $1,000 per month, or one person may rent both rooms for a separately negotiated price.

Rent includes all utilities, Wi-Fi and central air conditioning. The bathroom and kitchen are shared. The kitchen includes a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, air fryers and dishwasher. A washer and dryer are available in the basement 24/7 with no restricted laundry hours.

Both bedrooms have hardwood floors, two windows and their own closets. One room faces the front yard, while the other faces the backyard. The front-facing room contains attic access, which is rarely needed. Except for an emergency involving the home, any necessary attic access will be arranged at least 24 hours in advance.

Street parking is available. The home sits on a corner lot with alley access and has a backyard with a fire pit that may be used in accordance with city ordinances. The detached garage is used as a workspace and is not available for parking.

The home is pet-friendly with prior approval. Exterior Blink cameras and one camera in the shared living room are used for security. There are no cameras in bedrooms, bathrooms or other private areas.

A written rental agreement is required with a minimum six-month term. In-person showings are available by appointment.

I live in the home and am looking for a respectful, dependable roommate who will treat the house and shared spaces well. I value open communication, reasonable cleanliness and consideration regarding noise, guests and shared areas.

The home is intended to be comfortable and relaxed rather than overly restrictive. Laundry is available at any time, the kitchen may be used normally, and I handle lawn care and exterior maintenance.

There may eventually be two renters if both rooms are rented separately. I will update the listing whenever one of the rooms becomes unavailable. Pets may be considered individually and must be discussed before move-in.
