About the room
Located in Roscoe Village, this apartment is in immediate proximity to 3 bus routes. It has direct links to the Brown (~30 min to Downtown), Red (~25 min to Wrigley), Purple, and Blue (~35 min to ORD) lines and is a bus ride away from the nightlife scenes of Logan Square, Avondale, and Wicker Park. Within the neighborhood itself, there are a decent number of restaurants, a variety of grocery stores (Aldi, Costco, Joongboo, Wildfork), nearby Music Venues, and good bars. In terms of driving and parking, we aren’t located within a permit zone, offer street parking spaces adjacent to our house, and are roughly 8 minutes from I-90.
The Property is a third-floor apartment that is fully furnished and includes a shared backyard, herb garden, and garage storage. We love to host friends and, as such, have a well-built kitchen and bar to accommodate this. We have the capacity in our living room and dining room to accommodate 8-12 comfortably for family-style events. In terms of pantry and fridge space, we each have a level and space in the freezer.
The Room is roughly ~9.5’x7’ with a decent-sized closet and a street-facing window (N), which has a blind on it already. In its current configuration, it fits a twin or full bed and doesn’t necessarily have space for a workstation, but it could be lofted to allow for more space.
About the roomies
Ian and I are both in our mid-twenties, and this is our first place in Chicago. We grew up in the neighborhood and have been at this location for a little under 2 years now. He’s going to an electrician trade school, and I’m working at a nearby restaurant, and I studied to be an architect. We both work locally and have family in the area; we occasionally host family pets. We all have irregular schedules, and even though we have a shared bathroom, there generally isn’t too much difficulty. We do a monthly deep cleaning and split the utilities evenly.
