About the roomies
I’m a professional in my late 30s working in technology, user experience design, and design research. Outside of my career, I enjoy a variety of entrepreneurial projects, including historical preservation, collecting unique vintage goods, and working as a travel advisor.
For the past several years, my best friend lived in the home but recently moved out to pursue school. Rather than leaving the room empty, I thought it would be nice to find a roommate who could enjoy the space while bringing a little more life into the house. My goal is to provide someone with a comfortable, welcoming place to call home while sharing a respectful living environment.
I’m initially looking for someone interested in about a six-month stay, with the possibility of discussing a longer arrangement if it’s a great fit for both of us.
The home is generally quiet and relaxed. I work from home, so you’ll occasionally hear me on video calls during the day, but my office is separate from the living spaces, and the home provides good privacy. I’m happy to socialize when it feels natural, but I also completely respect personal space and quiet time.
My Christian faith is an important part of my life and naturally shapes the atmosphere of my home. You may notice Bibles, encouraging Scripture verses, or other faith-based décor throughout the house. I’m a grateful person and don’t hesitate to thank God for the blessings in my life, so conversations about faith may come up from time to time. You’re absolutely not expected to share my beliefs, and I’m respectful of people from different backgrounds. I simply like to be transparent so you know what the home environment is like before deciding whether it’s the right fit. I am also absolutely not perfect and laid back at the same time.
I enjoy decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, so the home tends to be festive during those seasons.
I also travel from time to time for both work and my travel business, so there will occasionally be times when you’ll have the house mostly to yourself.
One thing worth mentioning is that we’re conveniently located near RDU Airport, so you’ll occasionally hear planes overhead. Most people become accustomed to the sound fairly quickly, but I like to mention it upfront so there are no surprises.
Above all, I’m looking for someone who values honesty, respect, and open communication. My hope is to find someone who feels comfortable here, almost like having a trusted friend or family member sharing the home, while still respecting each other’s privacy and independence.
