About the room
This is my childhood home that I’m in the process of rebuilding and bringing back to life. It has a lot of character and a lived-in, homey feel, but I’m actively working on making it more comfortable, updated, and welcoming.
The home is located in Marrero on the Westbank, close to grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, shopping, and everyday essentials. It’s also a short drive to New Orleans, so you still get easy access to the city without being directly in the middle of it.
The room would be rented on a month-to-month rental agreement. If the living situation is not the right fit or is no longer working out for either side, either party may end the agreement with 30 days’ written notice. The goal is to keep the arrangement fair, respectful, and comfortable for everyone.
Utilities are included in the rent, including water, lights, gas, and WiFi. Parking is available, and kitchen access is shared. I have my own bathroom, so bathroom sharing is not a major issue.
This is a quiet, smoke-free home. I’m 420 friendly, but smoking is outside only. Quiet hours are after 10 PM, no additional pets are allowed, and this is not a party house. Occasional guests are okay, but no constant visitors, large gatherings, or unapproved overnight guests. Overnight guests should be discussed first and kept occasional.
The best fit would be someone respectful, clean, dependable, and easy to communicate with. This is a real home, not a perfect showroom, but it has space, potential, and a lot of heart.
About the roomies
You’d be sharing the home with me, my boyfriend Trevor, and our German Shepherd, Arlo. I’m 34, gay, laid-back, and definitely more of a homebody. I’m also a gamer, and I usually keep things pretty quiet and relaxed at home.
I rarely have company over besides family every now and then, so the house has more of a peaceful, lived-in, homebody vibe than a busy social one. I’m looking for someone who isn’t just a roommate, but also good company and a comfortable presence to share a home with.
Living with someone feels personal to me. It involves trust, understanding, communication, and respect for each other’s space. I’d like someone who gets that a home should feel safe, calm, and easy to exist in — not tense, chaotic, or uncomfortable.
The best fit would be someone respectful, clean, dependable, emotionally mature, and easy to communicate with. Someone who values peace, boundaries, and mutual respect, but is also friendly enough that sharing the same home feels natural and comfortable.
Arlo is part of the home too, so being comfortable around a larger dog is important. He may be protective at first, but he’s sweet once he gets to know you.
