About the room

Welcome Home.

What if coming home became your favorite part of the day?

Imagine arriving home after work, closing the door behind you, and immediately leaving the noise of the outside world behind.

The home is clean.

The atmosphere is peaceful.

Everything has its place.

You don’t feel like you’re sharing an apartment with a stranger.

You feel like you’re coming home.

That’s exactly the kind of home I’m creating.

Not simply a place to rent a bedroom…

A home intentionally built around respect, simplicity, organization, and peace.

The apartment occupies the entire second floor of a beautiful duplex located in one of Morton Grove’s quiet residential neighborhoods.

The home is being thoughtfully furnished with a minimalist approach. Rather than filling every room with unnecessary furniture, each space is designed to be comfortable, functional, open, and welcoming. Every piece has a purpose, creating an environment that feels calm instead of crowded.

Shared spaces include a bright living room, dining room, full kitchen, laundry area, and comfortable common areas where you can truly relax after a busy day.

One of my favorite features is the backyard.

It’s fully fenced, surrounded by beautiful green space, and professionally maintained throughout the year.

The backyard is being thoughtfully designed to become a peaceful outdoor retreat, complete with a patio table, comfortable chairs, a large umbrella, and soft string lights. It’s a place to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee before work, read a book on a cool afternoon, unwind after a busy day, or simply enjoy a peaceful conversation under the evening lights.

Sometimes, the smallest moments become the ones we appreciate the most.

For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, there’s also a spacious, clean indoor area where bicycles can be safely stored, making it easy to explore the nearby forest preserves and miles of walking and biking trails.

The location offers the perfect balance between peaceful residential living and everyday convenience.

Within just a few minutes you’ll find:

• Morton Grove Public Library

• Beautiful neighborhood parks

• Forest preserves and scenic bike trails

• Restaurants and coffee shops

• Grocery stores

• The Metra station

• The Morton Grove Community Aquatic Center

Whether you enjoy reading, exercising, cycling, walking, or simply coming home to a quiet place at the end of the day, this home was chosen with that lifestyle in mind.

More than a room, this is a place where you can truly feel at home.

About the roomies

Hi, I’m Miguel.

Originally, I’m an engineer from my home country. Today I work in the hospitality industry while also managing my own small business. I enjoy living with purpose, and much of my time is dedicated to work, learning, and building a balanced life.

I’m someone who genuinely enjoys learning. In my free time, you’ll usually find me reading, taking educational courses, or watching YouTube videos that help me continue learning. It’s simply something I enjoy and has become part of my everyday life.

I live a simple, organized, and minimalist lifestyle. I believe a clean, well-organized home creates a more peaceful environment for everyone, so I naturally take pride in keeping shared spaces neat, comfortable, and welcoming.

I don’t smoke.

I don’t drink alcohol.

I don’t use recreational drugs.

From time to time, I enjoy going social dancing with Chicago’s salsa community. It’s a fun way to stay active, meet wonderful people, and maintain a healthy balance between work, personal life, and enjoying the city.

When I’m home, though, I genuinely appreciate peace and quiet. I don’t host parties or play loud music. Home is where I recharge, and I want it to be a place where anyone living here can do the same.

More than anything, I’m hoping to find someone who naturally values respect, open communication, cleanliness, and consideration for the people they live with.

Whether you’re a working professional, graduate student, educator, healthcare professional, researcher, or simply someone looking for a calm, respectful place to call home, I believe the best living situations are built on mutual respect rather than simply sharing expenses.

I welcome both men and women who appreciate a peaceful, organized home and are looking for a long-term, respectful living environment.

I’m not simply looking for someone to rent a room.

I’m looking for the right housemate to help create a home where we both genuinely enjoy living and look forward to coming back to at the end of each day.
