Large Room Available in a Home Near Mingus Park $850/mo
I’m looking for a compatible roommate to take a very large room in a 2-bedroom 1-bathroom unit in a triplex that I am applying for. The potential roommate would also have to apply, a $55 cost. The unit is very clean, well-maintained, and on a small street close to Mingus Park. Note - I had permission to use pics from the original listing ad.
A compatible roommate match would have similar domestic preferences as mine: feels best in a shoes-off, very clean (especially kitchen and bathroom), fairly organized environment, where one cleans up after their self as soon as possible in communal areas, and allows for occasional exceptions when life gets busy or complicated. Values working out a sense of fairness in shared home maintenance – a system/structure could be discussed and worked out. Willingness to avoid or minimize strong chemicals. Favors quietude most of the time. A roommate would also be honest, reliable, willing to communicate and co-problem-solve. No smoking, hard drugs, or substance abuse issues. Politically liberal-leaning. These are all musts.
The large room looks to be close to 160-200 sq. ft. with a full-sized closet. I don’t have the exact dimensions at the moment, but a full bedroom set with a queen bed could easily fit - the pics might give one a sense of this). The living room would have potential for someone to add some furniture. The kitchen has many cabinets, plenty space for two people to have all their own dishes, pots and pans (though we could discuss if/what we’d want to share use of). There is no washer and drier, but there is a hookup.
Rent includes water, sewer, and garbage. Electricity and internet would be split. Aside from a $55 application and background check, the landlord expects the 1st/last month upfront and security deposit (I’m not 100% sure how the landlord deals with the deposit for 2 people, but it would run $375 – 750).
A little about me: I’m a female musician and music teacher. I’ll be teaching outside of the house, and have some online work. My music projects at home are on a keyboard with headphones, so you won’t be hearing much. I would communicate about scheduling any louder activities with a roommate, or do when gone. I like a healthy organic diet, and enjoy a good microbrew or glass of fine wine a few nights a week with dinner. I exercise, get out in nature and outdoor activities, appreciate arts, and am generally intellectually curious. LGBTQIA2S+ & BIPOC friendly.
